What brand do you use? How often do you color?

I want some color but do not want to spend a billion dollars at the salon. any good color out there that works great on natural hair?

Well if you're looking for subtle color, try henna. You can do red to jet black with it over time. If you want it quick and BRILLIANT color, let's give a little bump for more responses...

Thanks naturalgurl! I'm definitely looking for color with some "umph!" Looking to go from dark to very light like a honey/ash blonde, red, auburn, etc. New Year, new look!

A few naturals like Natural Instincts or Textures n' Tones.

If your hair is very dark, more than likely going to have to prelighten your hair with bleach. You will not get blonde from using a color and developer alone or a rinse such as a colorshower.

I have pictures of my hair color in my fotki
I used a 30 volume developer...I did not prelighten and I got a beautiful auburn color.
I used L'Oreal Xtra Brown in Golden Brown from Sallys.
