I want to make a ponytail...and i believe i have enough new growth that my hair should have waves when i pull it back...i know i did when i was younger...

but they are not showing up...lol like they disappeared do i have to train them...I was using my deman brush, and i thought that might not be the best brush to use...so i bought a wave brush I have not used it yet...

but how do you go about doing it...i globbed a WHOLE lot of gel into my hair...and it didnt nothing....lol

does my hair need to be wet or dry?

sorry for all the questions but I havent been natural since I was 7 I have no idea how to take care of this!! /images/graemlins/angel.gif

How much new growth do you have? it usually doesnt show up until you have a significant amount of new growth. It shouldnt take mounds of products to make your hair wave up. If I smooth my hair back right away, it wont wave up until a few seconds later.

Ah that depends ,if you have waves naturally they will show up regardles of what you put in your hair, and regardless of length. There will be no need to force em, lol. Now assuming you do have waves "lets jam" or shine are to products that will aid in making the waves you already have pop. HTH

You still have some relaxed ends right? I think the relaxed parts could be covering the waves. Until my last cut I couldn't see the waves either, even though my ponytail was curly. Once I cut the straight ends then I could see the waves everywhere.

[/ QUOTE ]I think that is exactly the problem!! oh well they will come in time...I might just cut the relaxed ends and get a texturizer!

I think you may need a few more inches of new growth because when you brush your hair back, the previously relaxed hair is mixed in with your natural hair and the waves will be hidden.

Try doing your ponytails on damp hair with gel to stretch out the new growth a bit.
