do you think this is normal for edges, or a bald spot?

i just dont understand where this could have come from. i dont brush my hair or pull it into a tight ponytail... and if i did, wouldnt it be the hair closest to my hairline getting affected? i dont want to jump to conclusions or brush it off because i think i havent done anything wrong, but this just looks like far too much scalp showing... im sure i definitely used to have more hair there :nono::nono::nono:

it just looks like your part, maybe if you part it different it wouldnt look like you're losing hair

Hrm. I dunno. It could be a small bald spot, or it could just be the way your hair is parted/held...... I dunno.

Looks normal to me. Everyones scalp and hair growth pattern is different. I was expecting something worse actually. Just my opinion.

I think it's normal; my hair is like that where I part it too. it's starting to grow in thicker, but it's nothing like the rest of my hair; give it a few months, you'll notice it growing in.

ok ladies... idk i got worried because you can literally see just my shiny skin with no hair there at all... say hypothetically it is a bald spot, what would have caused it?

I think it looks normal as well. I have a similar spot in close to the same location as you are showing- IMO (on my own head)- its a bit of a bald spot. I've been using Megatek in the area, and its filling in. Came out of nowhere, but nothing to worry about.

ETA: I was at the derm for an unrelated issue but decided to show her my "bald spot" and she said its randomly caused by white blood cells attacking normal hair follicles, and its not caused by anything in particular. She kinda brushed it off, like eh, nothing to be concerned with, and that its a common occurance on other parts of the body, but of course its most noticable on the head.

It's normal for edges to be a little thinner than the rest of your hair. I don't see a problem.

Note that I said A LITTLE. Your hairline is nice and normal and the hair isn't broken off or short.

My hair is a little thinner at the temples. The hair is extremely fine, slightly softer and looser curled and is the only part of my hair that will relax all the way. My mom who is natural also has the same thing.

ok ok i guess im overreacting... i was getting all revved up to start hooting and hollering MT GAVE ME BALD SPOTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Girl ....It doesnt look liek a bald spot to me...its seems like your thinning in the area but not bald .....in case it is ...try and see did you have an emotional chock lately or past few months??? or maybe your parting your hair too much in a specific way .....other than maybe consult a dermatologist just too make sure....i

One I had my huge bald i mean BALD AS AN ASS CHEEK and big as the bottom of can of coke ....the 10 cortisone shots didnt work AT ALL....only thing that it did for me is swell my a$$ and thighs as I gained a lot of weight . 3 months after the shots nothing was out from my scalp than my dermatologist sd he wouldnt give it to me as i was suppose to see results within 2 weeks after the shots and it would make the skin thinner...It did however work for my mothers friend but not me. As for myself ...I called my grandma she sd shave the spot and the hair will grow stronger ....GIRL THERE WAS NO HAIR TO SHAVE....even if there was any I WOULD NEVER DO IT. I went to the pharmacy and got 2 vials of ecrinal ....girl I cannot TESTIFY how that was the last I tried on my head on its own ....I would apply it at night and massage it everyday ....after 2 weeks oh oh I had hair coming out....like thin baby black hair all over the bald spot ....in amatter of a month the spot was filled completely with baby hair . Im not here to start a bandwagon ....but this was use for my problem....and it solved it . Each its own but before going to any conclusion youre always better confirming with a dermatologist FIRST if you really think its serious.
