I do henna every 3-4 months. I squeeze my own juices from oranges and limes. I use oranges for the acid to release the color in henna, versus lemons. Oranges are less drying. I thought about using the concentrated juice but too scurred. I'm a person who is coming back from constant shedding so I'm trying to keep my precious little strands!
Excellent idea with the orange juice

I have a problem with these kitchen recipes ... either my son or I will likely eat the ingredients before they make it onto my head.

You can forget about me putting an avocado on my head... That's going in my salad or on my sandwich... I'm eating that thing! :yep:

I  avocados. They rarely make it to my conditioner.

I have to beat my hubby back from eating bananas!!!:lachen:

I love avocados, too. I bought five avocados today -- four for guacamole and one for my hair, but I am pretty sure it will go in my mouth and not my hair...

I have some in the freezer...from Trader joe's ( they don't sell them any more)
I can use those for condish... they are not for eating...

Here is the link to the youtube video of the lady who uses "natural relaxer" on her daughter's hair.

I think she uses coconut cream concentrate and citric acid.

It seems like a super moisturizer than a relaxer. Henna is very good for loosening, but is very messy and stained my skin even with prepping my skin with vasaline.

God bless that little girl. Her mom was pulling her hair with that comb and she didn't flinch. It brought back scary memories of my childhood LOL

Thanks for the video! I might give this a try. I didn't really see a difference in the little girl's hair. I wish she would've done a before and after picture.

Using 6 oz. of sour cream with one large or two small lemons will relax it. At least it does mine. If that's too harsh, try coconut milk fat with limes. After either one use shea butter if it's not too heavy for you, if so use coconut oil...extra virgin. This should help...

ETA~Oops. Leave either mixture on your hair with bag for about an hour using a thermal heat cap for the first 30 minutes. I sometimes leave mine on longer because I start doing other things. Don't know if it relaxes it more or not. The longest I left it on was 3 hours.

Omg Omg O-M-G.. This is a must try!!!!!

I did this last night and afterwards my hair felt like butter.. I don’t think my curls loosened per say, but it definitely made it softer and more manageable.. My hair was always so thick, esp in the middle of my head.. I use to have to wash in braids b/c my hair would matte and get tangled. Nope, not after I did this!! My hand literally glided thru all my hair!!

I think imma do this like 1x/ week to see if it changes over time.
Maybe next time illl use yogurt to see if that does anything different. I went to wal-mart and they didn’t have any yogurt, so I said ill try sour cream.

I mixed the sour cream added a lil bit of milk, some honey and evoo. put in my hair like a relaxer left it in for about 1 hr and 20 min. (the 20 min I sat under the dyer on low heat.)

Thank you soo much for advice!!!

If u wanna loosen them permanantly u can heat train. U just gotta be careful not to fry ur hair

I detangle my hair while wet, and do bantu knot sets. when it's dry my 4a/b hair looks 3c

Or I braid my hair in about 6 or 8 box braids at night tie a scarf on my head so they lay flat and in the am take now and have a nice braid out
