Ladies,
Over the last few years of being natural I have been experiencing knots at the end of my hair.
I must admit that I believe it has something to do with the fact that I don't trim as frequently.
But do any of you experience this?
Also I normally blow dry my hair out every 2 months just to get it try. This is the only time I use heat.
I had an awesome hair dryer with an heavy duty attached comb that I purchased in California. It no longer works and my nappy head broke the teeth in the comb.
Are there any good online beauty stores where I can get another?
Thank you

:yep: i get them. i used to trim my hair regularly and i still got them. i think it just comes with the territory. the only thing i've noticed that helps prevent them is detangling more often and wearing protective styles.

i'm not sure about your blow dryer question...i have an old conair one with several teeth missing sitting in my bottom drawer right now :lachen:

Yes! I get them too. I agree that trims & detangling more helps keep them away, also I need to keep my ends moisturized and lubed up. that's why I use the coconut oil as a leave in.

guuuuuuuuurl, not only do i get knots on the ends- i get bowties too. I trim every three to four months- detangle daily and comb in the shower at least once a week. I have started using better products and moisturizing a lot better with glycerine/water or glycerine/liquid aloe vera. alot less knots and tangles now- i don't blowdry or straighten my hair.

I get a lot of tangles, snarls and knots on the end and do not understand how or why that happens. I mean, the ends are literally TIED in a knot! I am starting to moisturize the ends better now with Dudley's PCA Moisture Retainer and tuck them under and wear my hair "out" less.

Knotting, associated with African hair...

I have been getting them lately. It seems to occur more when I am untwisting my hair. It's like I have to pull to get the knot out.

I used to have a zillion of them. I had the singe strand knots, the multi strand knots, AND the sheaded-hair-that-wrapped-itself-around-my-ends tangles.

I still get the last one, but I have greatly reduced the others by letting go of shampoo and synthetic conditioners and moisturizers. I get about three mutistrand knots and two single strand knots a week.
