I'm giving up the Heat ...well sort of... and it's all because of Elucence!

I don't know why it took me soooo long to try this stuff. It smells wonderful and works like a dream on my multi textured hair. Living in Toronto doesn't make all the wonderful products that you ladies in the US rave about readily available to me unless I get my stylist to order them for me.
I'm appreciating my hair in it's natural state again (but that may also be due to my recent 3 inch trim). So I have a new regimen and am back to simple 4 product hair care.

I love my curls again...and so does my SO...now my question is Does blow drying with a diffuser cause much damage?! Winter's coming up and it can be brutal here and I'm not trying to go outside with a wet head of hair, so I was thinking I'd speed up the drying process a bit with a blow dryer.

...oh and do you have any techniques on how to use the thing?

Thanks in advance:kiss:

I use a diffuser all the time (not saying its "ok", but I do, sometimes everyday, I hate wet hair). I haven't noticed any damaging effects from it yet, but would not necessarily tell someone else to do it. With the diffuser, the heat is not hitting your hair as directly, and you also do not have to completely dry with it, you can use it enough to get rid of the drippies, and let the rest of the hair air dry.

ETA: Oh, no real techniques, just use a leave in conditioner, and your styling products. Don't hold the diffuser too close to your head, and tilt your head at various angles so that you can get the air to flow underneath. Try not to manipulate your hair too much while it's soaking wet, you can start finger fluffing, separating, lifting the hair when it's almost dry to help dry those sections that take longer and for volume and shaping.

So1913...you're actually where I got the idea from....I practically stalk your album (sorry if that sounds creepy) but Do you have any tips on using it? should I be pulling my hair as I go along or should I just rotate it around like a halo type thing....

I just added some tips in my last comment. Just go along like a "halo type thing" at first, don't do any pulling at the hair while it's wet. If you do want to stretch the hair, you'll have to diffuse longer until the hair is more dry, then you can grab sections of hair (can be handfuls, not even small sections), pull downward, and give a quick shot of the dryer (preferebly using a nozzle attachment) from the roots down midshaft using medium heat, but do not hold for too long, keep the dryer moving.
