I'm natural and thinking about tryin something new (:wallbash: I need a change). Anywayz I would love to see some pics of natural rollers sets and intsructions on how to do it myself ......,

I'm going to post some pics when I get to work tomorrow. I did my 1st rollerset this weekend on my natural hair. I did an overnight pre-poo with a mix of different oils & then I pooed with a shikakai bar & then DCed with some ORS & then I did a Giovanni leave-in & some Infusium leave in. That's all I put in my hair. I rollerset on some small black rollers. I parted my hair down the middle from ear to ear & from front to back - 4 sections. Basically I split each of the 4 sections vertically & made 2 rows of rollers. I started out drying with my soft bonnet but half way through it started spitting out cold air so I had to let it airdry. I took the rollers out before I went to bed & put on my satin bonnet. When I woke up the next morning, I took out my trusty Gold N Hot flat iron & flat ironed each curl on the middle heat setting. I didn't put anything additional on my hair - I could still feel the leave in & I didn't want my hair to be weighed down. After I finished flat ironing, I put some coconut oil on my hair. This was Sunday morning. I went & bought some Hype Hair satin rollers & I put 12 large ones (loosely) everynight to maintain. When I wake up in the morning, I just put some coconut oil on & fingercomb & I'm "red to go."

Check my album......I have 2 ways I roller set my hair.

Oh, so you flat ironed your hair straight after?

Your hair is very pretty, and your regimen is also my transitioning regimen. One tip: get a maxiglide and your roots will be undistinguishable from your relaxed hair. Oh, and please protect your natural hair with a heat protectant. I'd hate to hear that you've damaged your curls :nono:

No not straight - I just relaxed the curls. Since I used the small black rollers my curls were very tight. I have posted my pics in my Fotki http://public.fotki.com/lovinglance/1st-year-totally-natural/4th-month-natural-n/.
