I was curious as to why you decided to relax/texlax it?
I think I didn't know how to properly take care fo my hair and thus I wasn't getting the desired results. Now that I am learning so much here, I love my texture. I still haven't experienced a really humid day so I don't know if I can make it "puff proof" without some chemicals. I opened to question to everyone b/c I know some of you transistioned and have tons of knowledge to share:grin:

Thread Disclaimer: As always please forgive me if this is a repeat thread. If there is please point me in the right direction as my search turned up nothing.

Hey there Ive been texlaxed for about a year now and the reason I did so was because while I love my natural texture ...I like my hair straight , roller sets, wraps, doobies, silk wraps too without the fear of It reverting depending on the weather...So now I feel I can have my cake and eat it too..Im texlaxed so I can do wash n go's and my hair goes back close to its original state

I'm still considering texturizing mostly because of tangles, knots, and the amt of time it takes to twist my hair. I'd also like more styling options and generally want a change.

the only reason i was relaxed was because ive been that way forever, since i was 4 years old. it had since become nothing more than a habit for me. now that im natural i could never go back .

It just became a habit.."i'm black so i have to relax my hair" or at least what i believed..i never knew my real texture to even think there was an alternative to relaxing my hair

I find that light texlaxing helps me to use less products when styling my hair. I am giving up the idea of being relaxed strait. My hair just doesn't like it. Light texlaxing also helps lessen my shrinkage slightly.;) My hair thrives and that makes me happy. When I finish my transition, I will see whether I'll do this or not. The JFM texture softner is what I'll use. I get perfect results by rinsing it out as soon as I apply it.:)
