Natural ladies....

I use IC fantasia
I do a small nicklel size amount b4 I blowdry.
then I do a dime size amount to flat iron, I focus on the ends the second time

I use Silk Elements MegaSilk Olive Oil Heat Protection spray - fantastic bang for the $. I use before blow drying & flatironing.

The only thing I use is a little Chi Silk Infusion on my hair before I flatiron....I don't blow dry my hair.

I use Nexxus Heat Protexx before I blow-dry. Then I use the Fantasia Heat Protectant Straightening Spray before flat-ironing.

I used to use Motions Nourish Leave-in Conditioner and Chi Silk Infusion Reconstructing Complex to blowdry and then Proclaim Bergamot Emerald grease to flat-iron. It got my hair really straight and my hair did not revert for weeks (only washed my hair every 2-4 weeks).

Just a couple of days, I tried only Ultra Sheen Setting Lotion to blowdry my hair. Then I flat-ironed with no additional products. I like doing this WAY better than using the grease. It left my hair feeling softer, lighter, and more moveable. When I used the flat-iron, it didn't make that scorching frying sound and it didn't get my hair hot like it did with grease. So I only used one product, which was the setting lotion, as a heat protectant! Next time, I plan on rollersetting instead of blowdrying.

I wasn't using any lol

But I bought some CHI stuff and I use that now before I maxiglide. I don't blowdry but if I did I'd use it before that too.

I used to use Chi products. I read bad reviews on this board so I stopped and now I used Beyond The Zone or Silk Elements. I loved BTZ's Heat Protect Serum and the Skinny Serum. I put that on before I blowout. Then I put the Beyond the Zone or Silk Elements spray on my hair before I flat iron. It usually last me about a week and some change depending on whether or not I get off of my regiment.

I use Beyond the Zone Turn Up the Heat heat protectant spray. I usually air dry, but if I do use a blow dryer then I spray my hair before blow drying, then again before flat ironing.

I do not blow dry before I flat iron. I use Curlformers to stretch and airdry my hair. Then I work on each Curlformer section at a time. I spray it with John Frieda Heat Defeat spray making sure the hair is very well coated. Then I flatiron one pass wet-to-dry. And do that to all sections. The end result is hair that looks blowdried:

Then starting at the back, I finger part a very small section and apply John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum Thermal Protection Formula making sure every strand is well coated. The idea isn't to use A LOT but to use ENOUGH so no part of my hair isn't covered. Then one pass to seal and smooth out the hair. I work one one narrow section at a time. The end result is nice smooth and soft hair:

Sabino Moisture Block by sabinohair.com
I think now its called Loc and Blok or you can get the old version on ebay cheaper!

i use a tiny bit of evco on wet hair and i use john freida and only once; before blow dry and flat iron. sometimes i alternate with silk elements, but not so much as it's a little too oily for me. MOST of the time i use mane n tail heat barrier- it's light/ no oils and leaves my hair really feathery.

If I blow dry I put it on before I blow dry then again before I flat iron. I use John Frieda Frizz Ease Thermal Heat Control (orange bottle) for my blow dry because it is very light weight and then either CHI Silk Infusion, Redken Heat Glide, or Hydratherma Naturals Heat Protector for my flat iron.

I'ved used the GVP (it was kind of sticky, maybe used too much) and the Sabino Moisture Block on my transitioning hair. I'm too scared to straighten yet as a natural. I need to invest in a good flat iron if I am going to do.

I do ponytail roller sets to dry my hair. After that I apply some Sabino Moisture Block and then flat iron my hair.

What heat protectants are you using when you straighten your hair?
Either Pantene Shine Serum or Redken.

Do you put it on before you blow dry and before you flatiron or only once?
I airdry in plaits/twists. Then apply the serum, then flat iron.

I don't blow dry. I mix my leave in with Chi Silk Infusion OR Beyond the Zone Turn up the Heat and apply to soaking wet hair.

What heat protectants are you using when you straighten your hair?
Chi Silk before blow drying and Sabino Moisture Block before flat ironing.

I'll be trying out T3's 360 hair polish and/or 360 hair boost this weekend and next.
