What products do you use to press the hair. What is the process? I used to use Abba put it is flaky now. I tried the softsheen lotion but it was gummy ( I probably didn't use it right).

Any suggestions?

These are the basics of what I do:
1. wash
2. protein treatment
3. deep moisturizing treatment
4. apply leave-in (conditioner and/or oils) and detangle
5. section the hair in quarters or more and braid or twist all sections except the section you want to start on
6. with 1st section, blow dry on cold, section into pieces small enough for flatiron then glide the iron over each piece. be sure to pull the hair taut as the iron is gliding down.
7. repeat for each section
*tip* have a small fan blowing on your hair so that the heat does not linger on your hair.

These are some of the best instruction I have seen on how to wear natural hair straight...without a lot of heat. If I decide to wear my hair straight in the future, I am going to make sure to remember this.
