I've always had thick hair. My natural hair is a little bit more thicker than my relaxed hair.

I did not know that castor oil was a highly penetrative oil. Thanks for sharing this information. What this means to me is I don’t have to buy jojoba which is highly penetrative but more expensive.
Yes :yep: jojoba, emu, castor, avocado and coconut oil are all deep penetrating oils. Emu being the most fastest penetrating of them all.

I used Nioxin Shampoo, Scalp Therapy and Follicle Booster-recommended by natural haircare specialist. It helped my hair a lot.

Started deep conditioning at least 2x a week and doing Oil Rinses with castor oil or olive oil.

Wear twists, plaits, afro puffs and wigs for styles.

:look:Now I'm hoping that Ovation will do something with this length:look:.

I have naturally thick dense hair...but I think the vitamins are helping. Im not really sure.

I've always had thick hair, but once I went natural and started doing cowashes almost daily, it became even thicker.

I think I'm going to do some more in depth research on castor oil. I believe people when they say it thickens their hair. I just want to know the how and why of it.[/quote]

Hi Msa: I agree with you. I don't think Castor oil thickens hair.

I LOVE Castor oil and use it daily but can't say it made my hair thicker. However, I do think MegaTek is a key player making my already thick hair, thicker.

After finding some more info......Henna is going to be my staple now....

I dunno if it was one particular thing-but since I started detangling better (fingers, wide tooth comb, then denman- I have less breakage from build up shed hair that formed knots so I have slightly thicker hair. I also think my vits (biotin and MSM and DC 2x a week has helped.

Thanks for this!! I really needed this after erecently discovering that thick curly hair doesn't equal thick straight hair. I Really want to try both henna and castor oil now. Also, does henna indigo also add an extra layer to the hair? I'd rather have a black tint than orange....TIA....:)

No heat! My hair has always been thick but always pressing it thinned it out. So now I flat iron once a year for my trim and that's it.
