Natural Ladies: Does your hair get straighter or curlier

as it gets longer, when you airdry it in a ponytail or wrap it or does it retain some crinkly waves? If I do not brush the sides back, it is crinkly wavy, but brushing sides, leaves it straight? When I just leave it, it shrinks more when it is almost dry than it did when it was longer. When I wash and rinse under the shower, it straightens right out. Amazing thing, hair. Does you hair have a lot of elasticity?

Woo wee you have alot of ?'s :) Im mostly natural now.... I CAN NOT comb or brush my hair when its dry or else it turns into a frizz ball. If you want to retain your napps/curls/waves, comb it out while in the shower with a good detangler (NO BRUSH and use a wide tooth comb). It will shrink but thats natural hair for you! Wait till it dries and then give it a pull (not a yank) or maybe blast the roots with a blow dryer (only for a second) to stretch the hair out a bit. Elasticity? HECK YEAH! Bounces right back like a spring!

my curls are the same .. I get major shrink :look: ... i do twist out .. to lengthen my hair

my curls are actually getting looser as it gets longer. When I wrap my hair while wet it stays straight, with the exception of the ends.

This is me except I don't know how to use a comb on my natural hair. I only use a soft bristle brush. Can u tell me how to use a comb?

As my hair gets longer the curl pattern for me is getting a bit looser. It's really becoming quite a challenge to try and deal w/ all the crazy textures in my head, but I am just so greatful that I have hair to complaine about ya know?! I am more concerned w/ keeping my hair as healthy as it can be, then w/ what type of curl/wave/nap/kink pattern's going on. The only time that I ever comb my hair is during detangling, w/ TONS of conditioner in it! :)

As my hair is getting longer, I have to detangle more frequently...the tangles after just 2 days are out of this world! I don't notice any difference with anything else though, just how long it takes to detangle & do twists.

That actually happens to me- in the shower my hair straightens out but the second I step out of the water major shrinkage begins. I don't believe my hair texture as changed as it is growing. My ends are pretty straight because of the constant heat and manipulation.

when i cowash now the hair makes crinkles, not curly but it start to curl to itself but crinked and i dont comb it i just detangle with my fingers while dripping wet and dont apply the towel but drip it with my hands on both sides and while wet i put some grease then attach in two puffs and when the hair dries the hair is straighter i dont understand it i think for me its because i take high doses of msm its making the hair still kinky but straight i dont know how to explain that. it seems like i would have no problem flat ironing it once its dried in 2 buns before when i used to wash there was no curl pattern at all it just started happening as the hair get longer i need to take pix to better explain that

I heard someone explain once that to get more defined curls you should try shorter hair, because the longer your hair is, the weight of the hair pulls your curls straighter(does that make sense?). For me my curls are definitely looser the longer my hair gets.
