Okay I mind as well have a jherri curl. I co wash everyday. I use at least 2 bottles of leave in conditioner a week . I sleep with a plastic cap on my head at night. I’m afraid to lean my head against the headrest of cars because I might leave a wet spot. I’m only one second away from carrying around a bottle of leave in and spritzing though out the day. Oh well let your soul glow! :)

You just have to figure out what products won't give you the wet-head. I went through a few months of this too. I had some grease spots that I couldn't wash off my pillow lol. I was using S-curl and Sta-sof-fro.

Maybe try just moisturizing your hair with water? Maybe the leave-in is just too greasy? That sounds like a lot of leave-in to be using in one week. You could try finding some oil-free products to use. IMO, if a product is leaving your hair greasy then it really isn't absorbing into your hair to give it the moisture it needs.

I use Oyin's Greg Juice, Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Milk and Qhemet Biologics Sidr Tree Butter Balm as my main moisturizing staples. No more soul glo over here lol :)

I don't have the soul glow just wet hair spots. I use Patene or V05 as leave in conditioners. Lately I have been using Kiehl's leave in. Maybe you are using too much products. Are you clarifying to get rid of the product buildup.

I just purchased the Sidr Tree balm and I really like it. I mix it with the honey balm while my hair is still damp and either let it dry naturally or with a diffuser if its too cold out.

Do y'all have microfiber towels? I just got one and it's wonderful! Definitely cuts drying time. I've been using my Elucence as a leave in w/castor oil and it's not as greasy and doesn't leave "soul glow" signs all over the place.

ETA: I just got the sidr butter and henna softening oil....I used it last night and my hair feels soft but when I touch it I have greasy hands...maybe I overdid it

i use either kenra or boots essentials curl creme (pink). i also use nioxin elixir and giovanni direct. i stay away from s-curl and all that stuff

Do you have to leave it wet? Whats wrong with lettign it dry? Why cant it be without the conditioners? Im lost...

Yes microfiber towels are the bomb. I found them last year and raved about them. You can find them at Walmart too they have a button and hook to keep them in place on your head. I usually wash in the am, wrap with a towel, and then gets dressed, eat etc, remove towel, apply products and go. No dripping whatsoever.

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: That is soo funny, girl! Well, at least youdon't have to worry about breakage or split ends! ;)

Your hair is sweating under that shower cap. Be careful that it does not lead to bacterial growth on yr head. That happened to a friend of mine who used to use the same regime you did. I spritz my hair daily with water. The best moisturizer I've ever used. I wish u success in your journey.

Okay I think it may be a length and shrinkage thing. I wear my hair shake and go with a headband. I have been natural for ten years and my hair is a couple of inches part my shoulders when straight. The problem is shrinkage. No matter how long or short my hair is it shrinks to about 1 to 2 inches. Before when it was shorter I had no dryness issues. But over the last year if the roots have good moisture the ends are dry and if the ends a moist the roots are dry. When my hair is dry no matter how well its conditioned its snap, crackle and pop. So I wet it in the morning and put in leave in and its still isn’t completely dry when I co wash at night. I guess I need a better leave in. I have been using Allways 911 leave in cream conditioner but my hair has been drinking it up this winter. I’ve tried oils but my hair hates oils. It only likes creamy or gel leave ins. I love this gel leave in I think its by TCB but It is always sold out. I go to like 6 different bbs and they are all always sold out. Maybe I’ll try something new.
