Natural heads: Do you get excited when you see other natural hair sistas?

I know I do. I feel so excited when I see someone sporting their natural hair with pride and dignity. I feel the overwhelming urge to touch it. I notice when almost always strike up conversations like what do you use, etc.

Absolutely. Most women around here with natural hair WORK IT--beautiful TWAs, twists/twistouts, updos, locs. I saw a woman Monday with a horizontal french roll who's hair looked like the infamous Crazycoili's hair. She was wearing the cutest tailored skirt/blouse, killer heels and her figure was bangin'. I want to compliment her, but I would have had to break my neck to catch up with her, which then would have been just...a little...weird.

I sort of feel like I'm in purgatory right now--not natural, not relaxed, but I THINK I'm natural.

Yeah, I feel like I have to represent for the naturals because I can feel the permies eyeing my head. I want them to see that natural hair can be attractive and manageable.

Oh man! I moved back to NY a few months ago and I am just in awe at all the natural heads around here! All different types of curls, napps, and kinks, It is really inspiring! This one girl walking around BK must have thought I was gay! I was staring at her for so long! Her bush was beautiful. It was during the summer and the sun was shining all in it! It was sooooo pretty.

I love seeing naturals, the versatility and fullness is striking when well cared for. I get even more excited when I see a natural that seem to match my 4a/4b hair which has tiny waves (but they don't bend in L or Zs) and very loose curls - if they can be called that. Hard to classify exactly since it doesn't fit very well into either category IMHO.

Hey i'm relaxed and even I get excited seeing natural ladies. i think they look so confident and proud rockin a plaited/corn row style, locks or those luvly 2 strand twists. alot of ladies where icome from have long natural hair in twist and i look at them with pride. i also see them looking at me with my head of relaxed hair, but iwonder what they think.. "THAT poor poor chile" lmao. i wud luv 2 have natural hair, i just couldn't manage it. it was like 3 heads worth of WIRES! it was rough n tuff and just massive.

I'm always in awe of NATURAL hair! It doesn't have to be long, and it all looks beautiful to me.

It's like a secret club. I always try to give my natural hair sistas and brothers love too. I give love to the relaxed heads too.

I have! It's so nice to see Black women in the mainstream with natural hair. Then when I show up with my bush, people aren't all confused like they don't know what natural hair looks like.
