good2uuuu said:No. Not true. It's for all sistas with un-relaxed, untexturized hair. There are a few napp-activist there, but really, all natural textures are welcome.Mestiza said:I remember someone telling me that www.nappturality.com is only for people who have kinky hair.Does anyone know if that's really true?

It's for anyone interested in caring for their hair w/out the use of chemical perm, aka texturizer. Learning to take care of our hair just the way it grows out of our heads. It focuses on healthy hair care in general, and that's about it in a nut shell. Learning to love and work w/ what was given to you. You should check it out for yourself. There's a transitioner section, loc section, like topics, albums, general disgussion, natural hair products/commercial hair products, hair styles section and more! www.nappturality.com

I caution because there have been problems when a poster gets on the site talking about "how do I change the texture of my hair because my curls/kinks/coils are too tight?" The purpose of the site is to teach highly textured women to love and care for their hair AS IT IS, without resorting to straightening techniques and tools.
Having said that, does that mean that no one of the site presses or flat irons their hair? Nope. Does that mean that no one on the site defines their curl pattern with gels, pomades, and serums? Nope. Does it mean that no one on the site has a looser curl pattern? Nope. Does that mean that no one on the site does things that might enhance growth? Nope. It does mean, however, that those things are not the main objectives and goals for the site. The site is one of the few refuges on the 'Net where a woman with very kinky (nappy, coily) hair can get advice about her hair type without people suggesting that she just perm it, or that she try and find her curl pattern and enhance it. It's also a support site for women who are told by people "your hair is too nappy, you need a perm" or "you don't have good hair, why are you trying to go natural?"
That's why some folks (and not the vast majority by far) will get a little heated when they feel like the site is moving toward the "anything you want to do with your hair is okay with me" side of the spectrum.
