Natural Hair curl Ruined by Flat Ironing! Will Curls Come Back?:o(

After transitioning for 7 months, and a November 1 chop, I got my hair flat ironed. It was nice for a week, then I decided to wash it out. My hair is RUINED! There are sections of my hair that are straight. I've used clarifying shampoos! Did a week of Conditioner washes. WHAT happened? *sniff sniff* I need help.

Can I undo this?

Your curls may or may not come back. If not,you would have to transition out of the damaged hair, but the best thing to do would be to cut it off.

Unfortunately...if the hair is burned then it is beyond repair.

Dont lose heart though, it can grow back. So, so sorry that happened.

Oh no, i'm sorry to read this about your hair :(. Just stay calm and know that your hair can still grow in healthy and you can cut off the damage :). Dont be too down and please keep us updated on your progress . -- jainygirl

A very similar thing happened to me.. when I went to this Egyptian salon back in Oct.. there were a couple of sections.. not alot..but enough.. and then a couple of weeks ago.. I blowdried and flat ironed my hair and it did seem straighter then too.. The damaged hair from the Egyptian salon never did go back to curly.. when I had my BC..she had to cut all of that hair out.. it was just too straight.. This time around.. I did an Aphogee treatment(a very strong protein treatment) and then deep conditioned and it seems back to normal now.. but this time around my hair wasn't straight like from that salon..I could tell it had just straightened out some..

Uh-Oh...Looks like my options are to just cut off the straight sections...?
There aren't any "curl restoring" products?
*WAAAHHHH*

Sorry that happened :( Like a couple of ladies have already said, I would suggest a heavy protein first before you chop it off, maybe try an Aphogee like RushGirl did. I've heard of this happening to ppl and sometimes the protein works...good luck!

That is why it is advised to use a low setting on the flat iron and always use a heat protectant when using heat on the hair. i hope the curls return. Happy hair year to ya. lol

So sorry to hear this, I think it's the second or third thread in the last few weeks?

I don't know if any of the other girls curls returned, but I don't recall.

xx
