Natural but Color Treated Brazilian Keratin Results
Hey guys! Sorry I took so long. I went on vacation and then came home to internet issues. Anyway, here are the pics of my first BKT.
I had my hair cut, colored and highlighted I think on a Friday and then I BKT
d on the Sunday.
This is my hair after I shampooed with the shampoo included in the kit. I am a 4a, but I had my hair flat ironed after the color and you know how it goes. Sometimes you need a good DC after heat styling for your hair to retain its original curl pattern.
I sectioned my hair and then began applying BKT to small sections with a small tooth comb. I then braided back up the section and moved on until all my head was done. I think this is with my head done
I then opened each section and blowdried it with a comb attatchment.
I then pinned up my hair and flat ironed it as usual (comb chase method on around 1-1/2 inch sections)
This is a section comparing the blow dried to the flat ironed part
I think this is half my head done
The top after it was completed
So a week went byyyyyy and this is the first wash. I forgot my camera so I had to use an Iphone.
Washed, no product
I use L'Oreal's Ever Pure line. I used the moisturizing shampoo and the sleek conditioner.
Then I put in some NTM Silk Touch Leave In, and Fantasia IC Heat Protectant (pink bottle).
and blowdried...
I don't have a pic of the final flat iron because my husband took his phone back and I forgot to take a pic during the week since I was getting ready to go on a trip. I went to Cancun and pretty much washed most of the BKT out while swimming in BKT's worst nightmare (salt water). I really loved it while it lasted anyway, and am planning to do another one soon. I'm just not sure if I am going to get my highlights touched up first, or maybe do a rinse, but anyway, it is something I am going to keep doing.
It took me about 2 hours to do the whole thing. 1 to apply and 1 to flat iron, and I ordered the 4 oz tiny bottle and I barely made a dent in it. I just dipped the tip of my finger in, applied it to my hair and then combed it through. I don't know who Anna thinks she is fooling with that "the sample won't even do your whole head" mess.
One thing I noticed though is, the hair that has highlights is considerably straighter than the hair that wasn't lifted so drastically. My darker hair is pretty much the same, where as the highlights are maybe 3 c. When I blow dry now, it is still silky-ish, but I know the reason why is because I stripped some off.
I also wanted to add lol thanks fab for putting me on to DH. I was going for soft-liss, but I'm glad I just went into dh.
