Hi ladies. It's been foooorever since I posted, let alone LURKED here at LHCF. & no I'm not cheating with y'all on another hair board, lol. Nobody does it like you, LHCF. *bats eyelashes & strokes circles with finger on LHCF's chest* :lachen: :lachen:
For my absence, I apologize. Lol.
However, I've brought gifts! I remember how much my ladies love pictures! & I sorta had a breakthrough. Felt it was only fitting to bring it here.

I've been natural majority of my life. (Had a episode in middle school where I snuck and got a relaxer. My mom immediately put me in braids to transition it out :lachen: )
I've never really WORN my hair in its natural state tho. Its always pulled back in a bun if im doing a random no heat month(s). Always been super self conscious about my hair. It's big. Crazy. And Jerry curl-ish. :look:
Buuuut. It's me. & I decided there was no better day to rock it than on my 23rd bday. & rocked it I did. Lol

I remember you, welcome back. Your hair looks pretty, I always thought you were in the 4b family based on the thickness & look of your straight hair; was wrong! Do you have any less "zoomed" pics of your straightened hair? Its hard to see w/the extreme close-ups.

virtuenow thanks! & yep, I don't really like flat hair too much, so most times when I straighten it was using big chunks so I don't flatten it out too much. I liked more of a thicker look.& eh, I'm not sure about the photos. I don't really take pictures of just my hair. Most times because of the length it's cut off from the self pics on my iPhone. My arm is only so long  I'm gonna see what I can find tho

Forgot to mention I'm on a no heat challenge, So these pictures aren't accurate to my true length. They're pretty old... But It'll help you see the various textures of my straightened hair tho. It really jus depends on my mood & technique.

These are all I found.

Wow ,you and your hair is soo pretty! What's your regimen?
You should be proud of your ringlets ,they frame your face beautifully.

Love, love, love your hair!!! So healthy. How often do you straighten it? How do you avoid heat damage? What is your method. I'm thinking about flat ironing tonight but I need some tips. Does it take forever to do your hair?

Yes! YASSSSSSSSSSSSSS~! Beautiful hair, beautiful you, just beautiful! Your pics are giving me so much life! MOAR!!!!

Thank you ladies so much!
shermaine_08 I normally straighten whenever I want. Which is typically once a week. But I've been hovering around the same length (MBL) for some time now so I put myself on a no heat/protective styling challenge to get over the hump.
I use tresseme heat protectant. Don't really deep condition or protein treat. Only when I think about it, which is rarely. When I straighten, I blow dry using the tension method first then use a brush to go back through. If I want it super straight I use the comb chase method, & but most times I want it kinda textured I just take big chunks. I also use a lower heat degree on my ends. I go through and straighten my roots really well with small pieces then lower the heat level on the rest of the length of my hair. & it really doesn't take that long... Or maybe I'm just used to it. 2 1/2 hours a long time? Lol. Hth :)
