There are lots of reasons. Some people may just want to switch up their style. They may not want to commit to being natural. Others may not have grown out to where they want to be yet so they fake it until they make it. Some people just don't have any hair underneath there at all. Some people may be having a bad hair day and throw on a wig to cover it up. Some people may want to give their hair a break and decide to get a weave. Some people are transitioning and the weave/wig is helping them to get through dealing with the two different textures fighting. There are lots of reasons why "kinky" weaves/wigs exist. I don't see it any different than straight, wavy or curly weaves. Just another style option.
I agree with everything you have said, about justing to switched it up and i there are many ladies on here that wear wigs etc, but are really looking after there hair underneath.
But are we just quick fixing people, the same can be said about straight ones?
