Natural 4b hot comb pressers, how do you get smooth ends?

I know the rules, detangle in the shower, plait up each section, comb and detangle just before pressing, chase with a comb, etc.

MY ends are still getting tangled when I press. I dont need a trim (just got one 2 weeks ago), I acv rinse and use a protein conditoner everytime I press.

I cant chase with a comb because I only have 4 inches of hair- 3 in the crown. If I had longer hair, I could very well see me pulling my hair taut and pressing. Kind of difficult to do with short hair.

I will be using an electric pressing comb for the press ( 1 pass) and my solia cermaic flat iron ( 1 pass) to give my hair a bump.

I have 4b hair and I believe through experience that a pressing comb is better for pressing than the flat iron. It quicker and straighter.

Bottom Line: I need to achieve a press with the ends as smooth as the rest of the hair shaft.

Point me to a thread/post or give a sister some advice. Thanks In Advance -DLove.
