Any naturals who wear their hair up in ponytail/puffs/buns alot and don't experience breakage? Please share how this is achieved...

I have been wearing puffs and buns for the past few months.I stop twisting my hair due to tangles when removing and washing. For me, I co wash almost daily. So, I am able to release shed hair and check to see if there is breakage. After I co wash, I use a knee high to pull my hair back but not tight at all. I use a small brush and a dallop of gel to slick back my edges. I do the same with buns. I alternate to break up the cycle of puffs. I do notice that buns did not work for me long term. I did not experience much retention. My hair is retaining well and almost no breakage due to low, low manipulation, even in washing and putting it back. I hope this helps.
OP, I think you have to find out what works best for your hair and stick with it. For me, puffs and my hair out does great for me but it may not work for you. Listen to your hair and do what it likes to do. You will see the rewards!
How do you use a knee high to pull your hair back. Im newly natural, and would like to try this technique.
