I started twisting my nape to protect it from the scarves and high collars I wear this time of year. Hopefully this will help...
Most of us are natural in this challenge. The issue is the texture difference in the back. My hair is baby fine back there like velcro and really fragile.I know you have to be relaxed to be having this problem because that's the only time I had that issue was when I was relaxed. If I was you I would relax the nape last. If a beautician is doing your relaxer then she needs to neutralize the nape properly and wash-off the basin where you rest your head to make sure no relaxer residue is there.

Girl, stop fighting nature and keep your V. Embrace it!My nape is bsl in the middle, but the sides are so far behind. I'm thinking about trimming the V yet again
Agreed. My hair typically grows onto a V shape also and I just let her do her thing. It could be worse, it could grow into an inverted V. And look more like a W in the back - not cute @PrettymettyGirl, stop fighting nature and keep your V. Embrace it!
I'm natural, but I may start using her technique.
I'm still wigging it, but I am missing my real hair. I wash and dc about once a week (longer if I'm feeling lazy). My nape is actually growing nicely. I won't have to trim very much next month.I will be wearing braids under a wig for the next few weeks so that I can baby my ends and retain all my growth.
