I'm searching for a good cheap water based leave-in to add to my mix of s-curl and glycerin. I'm plan to use this mixture on my braids everyday, as a good source of moisture. I'm open to suggestions\!!! Thanks in advance

I love Aussie Insurance and V05 detangle and shine. The V05 may have cones, though. But it smells great and my hair loves it.

I hear that African Pride (the one with the funky-looking Afrocenttric designs) leave in is pretty good. I never tried it since most watery leave-in doesn't moisturize my hair enough.

Hi Den1:) ,

I use African Pride leave-in conditioner hair & scalp strengthening tonic (watery) and I love it. It makes my hair very strong, soft, moisturized and shiny.

I like Motions Nourish leave-in conditioner. I used it everday when wearing braids and it keeps my hair very moisturized.

Isoplus has always worked for me...leaves my hair extremely soft and bouncy, i use the one in a spray bottle and i feel i have more control over how much im using

Elasta QP H-Two Leave-in. It's only $3.49 and is great!

Co-signing on the H-Two. I just tried it and it's a keeper. I do like MyHoneyChild's Herbal Hair Cocktail better but it's more expensive. I also like Pantene's leave in conditioner (doesn't matter which one you get, the ingredients are all the same except in the Relaxed and Naturals line).

There's cones in the Pantene and Elasta condtioners, though. The only one I found that I liked w/o cones is MyHoneyChild.

organics hair mayo leave-in works great for me.i think its by african pride..i'm just to lazy to get up and look.i add olive oil to it and it works wonders on my wet sets.however, lately my hair seems to be getting a little more tangled from it.I may have to try elasta QP h20.

classimami713: V05 detangle and shine, i'll have to give it a miss,,my hair gets mad at me LOL!!!! when i apply most silicone products.
I've never heard of the Aussie insurance, must look out for it, is it lotion type or watery consistency?

Champagne_Wishes and CLASSYEBONYGIRL: Thanks for suggesting African pride? when you mentioned that it strengthens hair, what type of protein ingredients does it contain? because i already use surge 14 and it sometimes leaves my hair dry due to the keratin protein.

candibaby and Tai: I remember hearing a lot of great things about the Elasta QP H TWO, I may give a try since my hair kinda agrees with their products...shampoos/etc.

mahoganee and Peachtree: I used to use Motions before, it made my hair incredibly hard and dry, thanks for the suggestion though, but i think i'll give it a miss.

goldensugar23: thanks, i think i may try the Elasta...I 'll wait for other responses before i decide what I should purchase. Thanks again ladies.

Infusium 23 Leave-In for colored/permed/relaxed hair...NTM Silk-Touch Leave-In, and I've also used Perm Repair Setting Lotion in combo with Infusium. This made my hair really manageable, but works better for roller sets than just air drying, which is what I do. I tried Motions Nourish Leave-In, and I hated it compared to Infusium, which I've used for years...I guess my hair didn't like it. It almost made it tangle up MORE. I've used Infusium for a while, but I just started using the NTM Leave-In in July 04, and I love to use both together (I spray on Infusium first). I also love Fermodyl 615 by Revlon (there are imitation Fermodyls out there, usually right next to Revlon's in the BSS), but I only use it after touch-ups.

I love infusium 23 TOO, even though sometimes it made my hair a little hard. I could probably add this to my mixture and see how it works. I'm based in the UK , NTM isn't sold over here, so ANNOYING, i've also never heard of Fermodyl 615 by Revlon over here, i must inquire into it.Thanks for all your help.

Girl, go out and buy surger moisture aide. It's the best leave in that I've tried, and I have tried many.

It's very moisturizing, my hair has never been in better condiotion and it's partly because I started using it!
