I've been experimenting with diluting my shampoo for a little over 2 weeks...

My hair is beginning to behave differently.

Small tweaks can make big differences in your hair! I put 1 tablespoon of shampoo into 3/4 cup water. It makes a lot of suds, cleans well and everything... but leaves my hair more happy and moist.

It NEVER had this much definition after being shampooed. Usually the manipulation alone takes out a lot of the coils. I was kinda shocked... they seem to be more "intact" lately. And overall my hair has a lot more body and less frizz.

Dunno what to think really, the hair just seems way more moisturized and that's cool :)

Freshly shampooed, naked hair.

Does anyone else dilute their shampoo? Please share your experiences!

Them Curls are Gorgeous and soft & moisturized looking.

Your naked hair looks great!...and you know, when I shampoo, I use it full on, but I will actually try diluting it...:)

I love it!!! looks beautiful!!

So that is before using conditioner? It looks very moisturized indeed. I mostly co-wash, but when I shampoo (before putting in conditioner), my hair is stripped and dry, so I've been playing around with diluting shampoo too, or mixing it with a bit of conditioner.

I did a pre poo treatment with coconut oil (which I always do before I shampoo), then shampooed. No conditioner yet in those pics.

I shampoo weekly, but even my gentle shampoo has been leaving my hair a little dry. I don't think this will be a problem anymore

Wow, your curls are poppin! You have lovely hair, it does look really moisturized.

I never dilute my poo, I have a bad habit of using too much. It's hard to break the habit.

I dilute my SLS poos in an applicator bottle. I'm still tweaking the ratio though. I agree though my hair doesn't feel squeaky at all. Now my hair curls doesn't pop like yours but it doesn't feel strip which I love. I only use SLS poos to clarify though. Other times its just Hair One, Poo Bar, or Bentonite clay for me.

Aww, I love the texture of your hair, it's so cute!

Yeah, I dilute my shampoo too. I find it's easier to work with that way- easier to get the shampoo to the scalp.

For my kids I dilute the shampoo. About a tablespoon of shampoo with a cup of water. Then I pour the dilution over their heads, wash scalp and rinse.

The rinsing is easier this way.

Wow, I  your hair and it’s curls! It looks soo healthy and moisturized. Great job!

Looking real good, Neith. I don't know if it was stated or asked already, but what shampoo are you using?

I use avalon organics B complex shampoo.

It's not bad at all undiluted, but my hair has been responding differently to shampoos lately.

Thanks everyone for your kind words! :bighug:

you got some gorgeous hair there! I do dilute my shampoo, usually in the summer when i'm doing more cowashing & my scalp starts to feel itchy by day 3 or 4.

Beautiful Neith. How's it looking dried?

I just took my twists out, lol.

It came out very bouncy, but with some frizz. Maybe because it's rainy and humid today.

Question for poo diluters (lol) - do you ever have build up issues?

I tried diluting my shampoo for quite a while. But I found I wasn't getting my scalp clean, so I began applying the shampoo directly to my skin.

Now that it's winter and I'm not sweating as much in my head, I might return to it sometimes. Thanks for the reminder.
