My visit at the salon....

I was at the salon today and I was blowdrying and flatironing my hair(which turned out great by the way). The lady that was fixing my hair told me, out of the blue, that my hair had gotten longer, and had grown very fast ( I had told her earlier that I had cut my hair at the same salon a couple of months back). I've never seen this women before, so I asked her how she could tell. She just replied that she just coulderplexed merely by looking at my hair.
What am I missing? How could she tell?

What she could tell is that you were a black girl with healthy, long hair. Even though she may not have known you personally, your hair was not any that she remembered seeing on any black woman before. Make sense?

No of course not, my english is quite bad but I thought I atleast had made that clear. .
Catina, I understand what you're saying but no that's not it. She was looking at my ends, when she said that my hair had grown.

I don't think so....She was investigating my ends while telling me that my hair had grown fast, she mentioned it more than once.

I agree. If she had never seen you before how on earth could she have known your hair had grown quickly? And I agree with the other poster she was blown away by your length and didn't want to say your hair is long for a black girl. When you questioned her she didn't want to look silly. Or LOL maybe she had seen you before and you just hadn't see her or maybe someone in the salon told her. Either way, people cannot look at your ends and be able to tell your hair has grown. I've heard a lot of stuff since I've been on this board (1 1/2 years) and I've never heard of such a thing.

The reason why I don't think she was trying to make small talk was because she seemed a bit rude and was talking to whole bunch of other people that were also in the salon. Well anyway, I don't care too much.
And I know for sure she's seen black girls with longer hair...although I'm a lil longer than brastrap.

If you've never seen her before how do you know? Well, actually the more you share she just sounds kinda weird. I bet your hair is lovely.
