@ sohoapt, girl, I am sooo scared that my hair is gonna start breaking off, I've been dc'ing twice a week, restructuring, pre-pooing, Wen'ing, henna'ing, anything. But, since I'm still figuring out my staples and cementing my regimen, this is a good learning experience, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Oh, and my bf thinks I'm crazy. He's watched me go from a BC, back to relaxed, into a wig/weave phase, back to my own hair, and now, transitioning to texlaxed. Poor thing.

:lachen::lachen::lachen: His head's probably spinning, but wait till you reach your length goals!

I've been doing henna/cassia, but I've have fallen off recently. Reading this reminds I need to step up my game. I haven't had too much breakage, just when I get too touchy-feely with my hair when it's dry. You're right about this being a real learning experience. If I texlax I will do it on virgin hair after my BC b/c these two textures are hard enough. I tip my hat to you.

Funny thing, he barely notices. I mean, he notices, but he's rarely like, oooh, I really like your hair, and it ain't for want of trying cuz I've had every style in the book. I just don't get that man sometimes. :lachen:

Yes, do. Henna changed my life. That sounds overly dramatic, but it's true. Think about it, how many times have you been in 'the heat of the moment' and he touched your hair? You go through conflicting emotions: awww, that feels nice, vs shoot!- let me go tie up my hair. No more. With this twice a month henna, his hands are all up and through my hair... and I'm not halting all activity until he desists. Fabulous!

You know, I thought that too, but what I'm finding is that it's actually a little easier, and this is coming from somebody who never achieved 8 weeks post, ever. It seems like the texlaxed hair blends the two extremes. I don't know, maybe it's bc I don't wear it straight often.

I know what you mean.

:lachen::lachen: I am sitting with my henna right now. I think it's been about 6 weeks since my last henna-ing and I was faithfully doing it every 4 weeks at the beginning of my transition. I know I can't fall off now, when I have "only" 11 more months to go.

Interesting... never thought of that. I think I'll rock the fro for a bit before I decide, but who knows... we'll see next spring.
