okay i get a Affirm Mild relaxer this was the longest i went which was for 6 weeks considering i usually go for 4 weeks...i really didnt think i needed a relaxer and neither did a coworker that has shoulder length hair and that goes to the same salon but a different stylist...so i went on and let her put the relaxer in my hair this isnt the 1st time i went to her...i saw that it has grown alot since she put the relaxer in...but right now im growing out a short hair do so its not right in certain areas with it being as straight as it is...and with my hair already being soft...it is too straight...its not full like it was...so how can i at least get it to be back like it was??? washing it will this at least restore some of it??? im not really intersted in stretching my relaxers but i dont want to have breakage either at this point...ive come too far.....

HEY BLUE
I hate when I get my hair permed and it's done bone straight. I normally do one of two things- place rollers in your hair (dry set)- over night and you should be able to get some bounce in there; or you could wash it over add volumizing conditioners and roll and set it. HTH (there are probably other things you can do but these are the things I normally do when it's just to straight).

the 1st week or 2 after a relaxer my hair is always flat...especially when I have stretched for a while and I am use to all the body /fullness it strange to see. I don't know if you can do anything except wash it like you said but even then it will not have body .........try to live with it. or maybe do different styles....sleek, or waves with braid outs?

that's all from me HTH alittle....also I know protein helps to rebuild the hair but I don't think you should do it so soon after a relaxer.....check with the ladies here ( search on it too)

OT: girl your hair is beautiful it's more than hanging in there!!!

Yeah, I usually dont like my hair after a touch up. I dont like it to look really straight either. Like someone said, do a braidout, and that should make it appear thicker.;)

I'd say do a aphogee protein treatment and tht should give it a little more texture to your hair. it'll also stop your after relaxer breakage too!

I agree. Try a protein treatment. I wish this was my problem. My hair is so thick it NEVER looks flat nor bone straight.

One word of caution with the Aphogee...you may want to wait a while before using this. It may burn a freshly relaxed scalp. Just a small FYI!

thanks ladies...i havent done it yet but i have Aphogee...so i'll try washing and doing the Aphogee treatment....i just got my relaxer on Thursday so its been about 2 1/2 days since....

I agree with those who said to do an Aphogee treatment and of course wash it. Doing both of these things gives my hair more body.

I usually wait to do the Aphogee treatment one week following my relaxer.

Sorry, can't help here..I luv when my hair gets bone straight because my hair is so thick & course
