My steamer Died!!!

I only had it since Feb 2010. I don't think that's long enough considering I didn't use it while in weaves which was about a year. I'm so mad. It's the Salonsrus one. It comes on but its like the motor is dying (sounds slow) and no steam is coming out.
I need a steamer. Please list some reputable ones. Prices etc..

ETA: thanks to kinchen advise it works now. I just had to switch outlets. Strange but ok..

You probably need to clean it. It's clogged up with minerals, from the ound of it. Can you open it and carefully poke around trying to figure out how to save it?

Wow. I bought mine from the same place in Jan 2010 and it died Tuesday while I was using it. It started lightly smoking and had a burnt smell :burning:

my steamer from salons r us died but I was able to bring it back to life by switching the outlet I was using and using distilled water ( even though its the model u are supposed to be able to use tap) the whole thing is a piece of crap the hood is cracked the wheels came off I have to prop it against the wall and hold it to use it.

I got mine (same place) in 2009 and it works fine.

kinchen IT WORKS!!!! THANK U SO MUCH!!! I just switched the outlet and turned it on and it motor works.
