My Sisiters in the Ministry

GodsPromises

The Credit Countess
I am in the middle of attempting to write my intial sermon and I was wondeing if you have any web sites or tips that I could use to get started.

Anything would be appreciated.

I am so excited but overwhelmed at the same time :D

Hey LadyR

I'm not a license minster, but I do teach and minister to our ladies and when I have been ask to speak or teach I always consult God and ask him what do you want me to say or speak about. If I have time sometimes I fast for a day or so just to get me out of the way, so I can hear him clear.

Once he tells me what he wants me to deal with, I find it in the scripture and once I'm foundational in the scripture then I look for teaching aids, if I'm teaching, but I never look to man to tell me what to speak from the heart of God. Only God can tell you what he wants you to say.

Sometimes I've repaired for a lesson and when it time to teach, God took me in a totally different direction, why, because there was some ladies that showed up that needed something different that what I prepared.

So please be lead of God and be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I hoped this helped.

Be blessed.

Thanks for replying. I may not had been clear. I know not to look to man to tell me what to speak, I also know that he will lead when I am speaking. What I was asking is for online teaching aids and such to research the subjuct that God has given me. As for my intial sermon I know the topic but I need to do more reaseach and because I am on the computer and online for everything else I was looking for good resources for my sermon topic.

My dh is a minister so I definetly know that God can change it around when you are peacher for I have seen him do it in him and other ministers that I know very well. I just want to be prepared.

God Bless

Oh, ok sorry I hope I didn't offend you.

It just sound as if you were looking to find something to speak about.

Can you use some of your husband's aids? Bible Concordiance(sp) (Matthew Henry), bible dictionary, hebrew dictionary,
Charles Swindoll has good books. Use reference scriptures.

Sometimes what I've done is take my topic and go to the bible bookstore and see what's in there on that topic, when I'm teaching. It's hard for me to send you anywhere other than the word of God when you're preaching.

My grandmother use to say,a good meat makes it's own gravy meaning that the scripture is good enough for you to pull from.

I don't think I'm helping you so I'm gonna let somebody else answer.

Be blessed.

Thank Mocha,

I will look at that page and do some research.

Where are my other ministers in Christ. I'm still looking for more suggestions.

My dh can help me but he and I both want me to learn and do this on my own learing as I go.

Re: My Sisiters in the Ministry - UPDATE Please read

Alot can happen in a weekend.

1. We have decided to go ahead and fully start our ministry. We feel that it's God time to get it off of the ground.

2. I have the date for my intial sermon. It will be the 4th Sunday in May which is Memorial Day weekend.

I am so excited about all that is happening. I can truly see God moving this along.

I've given the message at my church 4 or 5 times. It is a VERY humbling experience. What works for me is to do draw from my own experience and use object lessons. This is how Jesus taught. :) My last sermon was on the March of the Penguins. There are so many object lessons in nature and I used the visuals from the movie to really drive home the object lessons from the emporer penguins, example: the way they keep warm during the the harsh winter storms, they work together constantly moving in sync, this is like the body of Christ, moving and working together to make it through the storms of life

I'm amazed. Can you share your message with us? I know it will be a blessing with a 'message' to each of us.

Lady R:

I hope this helps; I did a search on Ministry Tools, preparing for a sermon:

http://mintools.com/ministries.htm#speaking

I enjoyed this article by Rick Warren:

http://www.christianpost.com/article/20070329/26606_18_Ways_to_Motivate_Yourself_for_Ministry_(Part_1).htm

No matter what, you'll be wonderful in delivering the right message and with the right words. I love Isaiah 50:4

"He waketh me morning by morning, and gives me the tongue of the Learned; that I may have a word in season, for he that is weary."

And ... "...to take no thought, for the Holy Spirit will speak through you as the appointed time."

Minister Lady R....just minister. For you have a gentle heart that hears the 'Father' and a gentle word that follows.

BTW: I just thought of something. I'm always a 'sermon' better a sermonette (the girl type sermon). Just being silly ... thought I'd make you smile.

I'll see if I can dig up the powerpoint. The message has a lot of references to the baby penguins and the moms and dads. Talk about drawing from my own experience: I delivered that message when I was 9 months pregnant with our 3rd third son (last summer). While I was preparing for my sermon I remember thinking, "What the heck am I doing speaking with this big ole belly!" I usually like to walk around when I speak but I stayed behind the podium this time. I WAS HUGE. But God blessed. I think it was a testimony to women on how we can be used.

 I hear you with the 'belly'. However, you were giving life...to the precious one you carried inside and to those to whom God called you to speak to.

I can't wait to see your message. Make sure you copyright it. God's not through using you with this one and many, many more. For from your Belly, flows living waters...clear waters of the Holy Spirit to refresh our hearts anew. I can only imagine the reference to the waters in your message, along with the penquins.

Many blessings to you....many, many blessings and much more 'Water' ;)

Thanks Shimmie,

I will look at the article that you found. You are are Doll!!!
