My Secret Weapon (detangling natural hair)

Irresistible

New Member
ive shared this on every other group, figured i would share it here too.
introducing (for those that dont know) the K Cutter ( it comes from an actual Cake Cutter)

http://store6.yimg.com/I/ebonyline51_1773_2460438

i WOULD NOT of made it being natural all these years without my beloved K Cutter. using this on wet/moisturized hair with leave in or reg conditioner , and you can say goodbye to breakage and tired arms from tangles and having to pull your hair out with the tangles. using it from the ends to the roots on a full head of natural hair will save you tons of pain, trouble, time and hassle.

dang did i just sound like a commercial? lol

Girl, you ain't telling me nothing I don't already know. I LUV MY K-CUTTER. This is the only comb I have ever used. I'm talking, I've been using it for at least 20 years. I'm so glad that now you can buy them on-line if you want to. They seem to be getting harder to find in person. Remember when every black liquor store in the neighborhood sold them?

I would be lost without this comb. I've got two just in case I misplace one.

I've mentioned it a few times on this board and others. Some people go, "What is that?" Others have said, "It looks scary." I'm glad I've finally met someone else who knows the joys of the K-Cutter.

Iris,

You are incorrugible. I finally broke down and ordered the k cutter yesterday.

I can't wait to get it.

I've never heard of this comb before. Do they sell them at Sally's?

ive actually never look for them at Sally's so im not sure, but if not im sure you can order one...i get mine from a little indepenently owned bss

Girl, ever since I read that long-haired natural Nay has been using a K-cutter, I have been trying to find one, but no luck. I called all the Sally's within a 30-mile radius and they didn't even know what it is. I found a black-oriented Beauty supply store who told me that it's on order and I am waiting for it to arrive sometime next week. I might just break down and order it online.

That must have been somebody really young if they've never seen one of those before. That's what we had in our house. My brothers and father used it for their afro and I'm sure my mother used it on my hair before my hair started hanging down. I'm going to have to get one for my daughter's natural head of locks. She'll probably love me for it.

Thanks!
I like my pick, but I wish it was a lot bigger so detangling would go faster, wasn't plastic, and had wider spaces so I will try that out!

Thanks. I will put this on my natural "to buy" list. Does it work as well for transitioners?

I really believe it will work on any hair....i use while my hair is pressed too...i just love it period. but yes it would be great for transitioning as well and will help you detangle the new growth with minimal tension

I've always had a K-Cutter. From recommendation on this board I've tried the other wide-tooth combs and they don't compare to the K-Cutter.

Anyone know where you can get these or
where you can order them online that doesn't require you to order other things as well or
is willing to buy one for me and send it to me if I pay for the K-Cutter and shipping and handling?

Thanks!

Chimma, I'll mail you my extra one. PM me with your address, and I'll mail it to you within the next day or two.

Don't worry about the shipping. It doesn't weigh very much, so I'm sure it will be under 2 bucks. Consider it an early birthday present from me to you

Hi irrestible, thanks for the tip. I just placed my order because I have never heard of such a comb. I was just saying to myself, how am i going to deal with my hair when i take it out of braids. I have such a problem with tangles that i can't comb my roots. I'm hoping this will do the job for me. I love my natural hair and i love it even more as it's growing longer. By the way, your hair is absolutely, postively gorgeous. It looks so healthy. I will follow your advice using this comb and hopefully it will work for me. I purchased the comb online by logging on yahoo.com and i did a search for k-cutter comb. I'm so excited I can't wait till i get it. How long is your natural hair irrestible?

I wasn't planning on getting on but, I was in a BSS today and after I had paid for my products I was looking around waiting for her to ring my items up and I spotted it...it's by kizure. I recall using one many years ago (the pick one). The one I got is like the one you posted Iris. I need whatever I can get my hands on to give my strands a fighting chance. The longer it grows the more I have to worry about the ends...and how rough I have been with my hair...sigh.

hey Fancypants thank you girl. , im sure that this comb will help you alot...just remember to always use it with wet well conditioned hair , combing from the ends to the roots. not sure if your asking how long my hair is or how long ive been natural....so i will answer both. its just about to my waist now and ive been natural ten years...i hope the k cutter gives you as much of a relief as it has for me

That's why I bought it. It seems the longer my hair gets, the more I have to worry about my ends.

I'm trying an experiment combining using the k cutter with less washing and manipulation and see how ell that works.

the longer natural hair gets the more work it is period...i know i need that big metal comb , aint no normal comb gonna cut it , getting through this head....the k cutter does cut through tangles smoother and easier, but there still will be the tangles..but it will for sure do better for your ends than any other type of comb...im glad you got it
