That in some spots it looks pure white! I haven't done anything too different with my routine. I went back to Main N Tail, and I drink plenty of water. Do you ladies have any suggestions for me? I'm getting to the point where I have to really watch what I wear and how I wear my hair. My head is an itching white mess!

Are you taking any flaxseed oil? If not, this will help beautify your hair and skin, including your scalp (among many other great benefits). You won't have dry scalp anymore. The standard daily amount is one tablespoon for each 100 pounds of weight.

When I've had problems with excessive flaking, I have a few strategies I use. Sometimes what works for me is washing my hair a few days a row (sometimes with Head and Shoulders shampoo) and using some kind of oil directly on my scalp. Or I'll do a warm some oil slightly in the micowave, massage the oil into my hair and scalp as a pre-poo and then wash. I also find that I sometimes get this when I'm a little too generous with the leave-ins I use or I haven't clarified in a while. Some of your dryness may be just product buildup and using a clarifying shampoo can help with this. Finally if these kinds of techniques don't work, you might want to try a MTG treatment on your scalp.

I hope this helps and provides some relief for you!

thank you for the responses ladies! i think im going to try a clarifying shampoo.
Isis what does flaxeed oil taste like or is it something i can rup on my scap? is there a special brand i should look out for?

thanks again!

I used to have a dry scalp and have had one all my life...I was diagnosed with Psoriasis. I was given medication but as soon as my scalp got used to the shampoo it would get dry again so I had to stop using Nizoral. When I started using MTG in February I immediately noticed the difference. I can't believe how clean my scalp is now and usually I can wash my hair one day and my scalp would be flaky in two days. I also used the Kera Care on my scalp that worked for a while.

Ugh, I had this problem soo bad too. Heres what I did:

1) Started drinking 64 oz daily (you said you already do this)

2) Taking a hair vitamin and multivitamin

3) Started washing every 5 days instead of 7 days. So my hair and scalp were conditioned more

4) Every time I shampoo, I would use Keracare Dry and Itchy Scalp conditioner for 5 minutes ( while I lathered up) and deep con'd for 15 minutes.

Scalp problems never came back ;)

Good quality flaxseed oil has a buttery, nutty flavor and it's taken internally, like on your food. I love the Spectrum brand of organic flaxseed oil.

Flax oil is the best source of vegetarian omega-3 in the form of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). ALA has been shown to promote heart health, reduces inflammatory conditions and is great for hair, skin and nails.
