I decided to give it a try, as I've been self relaxing at home and was in dire need of a trim.
1. Although the directions suggest that hair be clean and dry, I found it better to moisturize my hair as usual. It provided the proper slip needed.
2. I had to use fairly thin sections of hair, as it is basically like raking a hard plastic brush (with lots of bristles) through your hair. This prevented breaked casused by brushing.
3. It trimed very little off my hair (1/8 - 1/4 of an inch tops) and prevented that "just cut" look. I followed up by remoisturizing the cut ends, and flat ironing as usual.
Overall, I was very pleased with the results. One of the few reasons I'd go to a stylist is to get a trim (unfortunatly there are no Dominican salon here in Tampa that I know of
). At $40 from Walgreens (equal to the cost to get it washed/set/trimmed at the salon), I feel like I got more than my money's worth.
