My Phony Pony Caused Mortal Fear!! (JK)

Hi everyone

I just wanted to show you my "faux" pony. I thought it looked real esp. since I attached it using the mane clip that Southerntease introduced me to on her blog (thanks btw:grin:). But today I had an encounter that really told me how "real" it looked.

So since it is so cold in NY now, I am trying to stay away from my daily CW and thought I would get my hair pressed instead. However, the only stylist I know close by is booked solid tomorrow. There is another "black" salon that's always busy so I thought to stop in and see what vibes I got from the stylists there and maybe schedule a press. I walk in and one stylist looks up fom her client and greets me with a face of disbelief.

Me: I wanted to find out if there is a stylist here who works with natural hair. I'm interested in getting my hair pressed.

Her: OH girl, look at all that hair!! Umm, that is a hairdresser's nightmare but I can do it.

Me: (:lachen:Cracking up internally cause ain't no way this woman is putting her hand in my head now) Oh no this is a ponytail attached. I have about 4 inches of natural roots though.

Her: Oh that's better. My arms started to hurt just thinking bout all that hair. When you wanna come in? ( YES she really said that!)

Me: *sweetly* Can I have your card? I'll call you. Thanks

Yeah right!! Enjoy!

I'm usually pretty good at spotting fake hair, but I never woulda guessed that ponytail wasn't real! That looks great!

Thanks ladies!!! I spent a long time looking for a pony that I thought would match my texture when my hair is longer.

Sunshine: The hair is by Dakar, the Isis Collection. The style is the Spring curl. I separated the curls by fingercombing and just mussing it up a little so it would look real.:lachen:

cmw: I CW everyday so I start off with wet, detangled hair, then I add two quarters worth of Ms. Jessies buttercreme to my hair and then Fantasia IC gel and brush back into a bun with a boar's bristle brush. Somtimes I tie down the front with a scarf for 10 minutes if I have the time but usually I don't

Girl, you live in Baldwin? We are not far from each other at all...I work in Hempstead. (Well, my MIL lives in Baldwin and I'm there with her every Wednesday (take her shopping, etc.) We have to meet up sometimes:yep:

Did you get your hairpiece from the BSS on Grand Avenue...the one across from Pathmark?

WOW, it really does match perfectly!!!! WOW!

NiceandWavy: Yup I got my phony pony from Lucky Beauty Supply in the same plaza with Dollar Tree. I am ALWAYS in that place (maybe a little too often actually :perplexed). Girl shoot, I didn't know anyone from on here was in the area. For sure we can hang, Grand Buffet maybe?? LOL:lachen:

Balisi: I know, her response really was ridiculous.

How dumb is that! She just lost a good potential customer.:lachen: My arms just hurt looking at all that hair.

That's PERFECT!!! I would have never guessed it wasn't yours.... I wonder how long your hair would be if it was real?

I've been to Lucky BSS plenty of times. I get my satan scarfs from there...LOL. I'm going to go in there to see if they have one that would match my hair...then I'm going to rock it...:lachen:

Grand Buffet sounds good. We need to get together sometime. We will keep in touch for sure!
