Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share this picture of my Mom. She is 84 and bedridden. When I went natural I also did the same for her since it was getting too hard to do her hair from bed. That was two years ago. We have to use a inflatable sink to wash her hair every two to three weeks. I have to have help to do it. I put her hair on top of her head in a bun every day because that is what's easiest for both of us. I decided to curl it tonight because we are having company tomorrow and I was shocked at the length of her hair. I had no idea it was this long! I have followed all the things I learned on this site and I am a believer!!!

Her hair is way longer that mine now and I think the difference is hers is not being messed with on a daily basis like I do mine. Even more proof to me that it is possible to grow our hair with good care. I am jumping head first back into protective styles. lol
I use my own butter and oil mix, water and Organics Shea Detangler on her hair.

The first pic is what her hair was like before the BC. Her hair has never grown longer than this and she wore wigs most of my life.

I think that you are a wonderful person for taking such good care of your mother. You are doing an excellent job with her hair. And those protective styles are great for retaining length. I usually wear braids but I just started throwing buns in the mix for a different look.

She is so lucky to have you, not only for her hair (which is gorgeous!) but in general.

You are a saint in my eyes.

You're doing a wonderful job!! I know how hard it is to have a parent unable to care for themselves. May you and your family be richly blessed. :)

Your mother's hair is beautiful! Please continue to take good care of her - body and soul - and know that you are doing a wonderful thing to care for your mother like you do. :)

OMG aren't you a sweetie caring for your mother the way that you do. Love & blessings to your family. And keep up the good work. :)

This is very sweet of you to help her out like this when she needs someone. Her hair is beautiful. Keep up good work!

I second the sentiments of the other posters. Your mom's hair is beautiful. How does she feel about having such gorgeous hair???

May God continue to give you strength.

Yes, this post has brightened my day :) How lucky she is to have a wonderful person like you in her life.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. It's a hard job and not for everyone but I don't regret my decision to do so at all.

Pam Pam, I laughed when I took the picture because I was thinking if she knew her hair was this long know this picture would be alot different. There would have been so much black hair dye and red lipstick in it! She would be out of control! lol

Seeing that pic of your mom with the rollers in her hair brought back memories of when I used to roll my grandmother's hair up when I was a teenager. She died in 95 and I miss her everyday and your mother reminds me of her. So know that you are truly blessed.
