Due to my hair getting heat damage from a flat iron I didn't know how to properly use at the time (early 2008) and additional breakage from having protein overload for months, I had to BC.

I cut off most of my hair in December 2008. My hair was damaged and I just couldn't take it anymore. I needed a fresh start. :yep: My hair is healthy now, and I did get protein overload again, but I am back on track. My hair is layered so the front looks shorter than the back. I will gradually even it out.

I currently cannot post of pics of my bc because my pc crashed with those pics, but I do have the pics from when I braided my hair (yes, I've been braiding my own hair two decades)!

This pic shows how short my hair was after the bc:

Almost done:

By the time I finished the front, I needed to do the back over. :lachen: Braiding your own hair is almost constant work; since I like my hair to always look like it was just done. :yep:

I've learned alot on my hair journey; one thing is that my hair does not like protein. :nono::lachen:I plan to be BSL by next winter.

Stay blessed ya'll!

Wow girl, I was looking at the pic from last year and then I scrolled down, I was not expecting all of that.

Your hair looks great, you've done a good job!:yep:

You get 2 KUDOS! One for self-braiding :cup: and One for retaining the growth :cup: That is awesome progress and inspirational! I swear sometimes I look at my pics and my hair is growing nowhere. But when I see all of the lovely heads on LHCF :drunk: :drunk:I think I can do it too!:yep:
