My hair in the back has grown to where it always grows before it breaks. So I feel as if I'm crossing a threshold, and I'm really nervous. I've never had long hair, and I've always wanted it. Help! I really, really, really, want long hair!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem. It gets to bra-strap and either breaks or the ends thin out and I have to chop. I think protective styling is key :)

I agree. Protective styling is key. I also try to pay very special attention to the trouble spots -you know, give them some good ol' TLC. Good luck and happy hair growing

yes I am agree my damage hair in the back grew back (thanks to Surge, vits and braids) so I just wearing phony ponies and braids to achieve my hair goal

Hmmm.....

I don't know if I understand what your saying. Are you saying your nervous because your hair goal is within your reach? Or it breaks after it grows?

-I know what you mean about being nervous about being so close to your goals. It's kinda weird that everything you worked for is about to become reality.

-If you mean it's breaking before reaching your goals, then I would agree with the advice already given. Protecting the ends is key!!!

It's normal to be scared before getting past that "breaking point." We all go through it. :) Just keep babying your hair and, trust me, it'll all pay off in the end!!! Hang in there!

Keep doing what you're doing that has been working all along (like keeping your ends moisturized) and whenever you feel anxiety, focus on something joyful. Get involved in activities you enjoy to get your mind off of your hair and before you know it, you are past that "breaking point" and over the threshold. There's no stopping your hair from there! :)

I went through the same thing with my hair in the nape area. I was happy but I didn't want to get too excited b/c it was growing. But I continued to do everything I was doing and I saw my nape area grow out like it never has before. So, continue to do what you're doing and enjoy your hair! :)

Belleza, I know how you feel. My hair is finally getting back to the condition that it was in when I was in high school (my healthy hair days). I also started getting nervous because, in the past, I usually hit a hair climax and it's down hill from there. But now we have the know-how to keep going on our hair care journey. Don't be nervous, just enjoy the growth and keep treating your hair well.

Great thread!!!! Lots of wonderful advice and encouragement. I'm @ same crossroads. Just stay patient Belleza and consistent. I always decide @ the same point that my hair looks great and then I pick up the heat, wear it out more, etc. :nono: I also find myself being more impatient and feeling that my hair is stuck at the same length. So patience is extremely important :) .
