Hello all. I have been doing scalp massages twice a day for a few weeks and I think it's paying off. I've got lots of new growth but i'm on a six month stretch that ends in march.
I have noticed my hair is growing pretty well but I tried the shikkakai and alma tea this morning and my hair just broke to heavens :( I may have used too much shikkai because my hair felt strong but kinda hard. I dc with qp dpr 11 and ors replenishing pak for 1 hour and it was still hard. Anyway I roller set it and here are the results.

but I normally braid the back of my hair as a protective style and noticed this

Do you think that was the culprit or is my stretching causing the breakage, it's been 10 weeks.

OMGoodness  You may not be able to stretch that long :nono: I don't know much about shikkakai or amla tea but please don't mess with that stuff anymore. :nono:

I'm bumping this thread to see if our relaxed ladies can offer you more help.

Thanks for responding. I hope someone can help me :(

You might have to stop stretching...Try using a deep moisturizing conditioner for the next couple of washes. What moisturizing conditioners do you have on hand.

I use QP dpr 11 and ors replenishing paks. I also use qp intense sometimes. So it may be the streching? I guess I may have to relax soon then. Thanks Gymfreak

See if it gets better with another wash or too, if not you might want to consider ended your stretch. You have beautiful hair btw....I can't wait to see your retouch pics

You said that it was breaking after you used the stuff right? You didn't notice the breakage before correct? That is precisely why I don't believe in mixing ingredients. I would rather buy the already formulated products. I was talking to my sis Atrinibeauty about this. How does one know if they are putting too much of an ingredient in? I get scared when it comes to stuff like that. My advice would be to use what has been working for you.

Your hair is very beautiful and shiny though!!
