Just venting really,

I have been alternating between wash/go's and wearing my hair straight. So far I have gone from flatironing a few times a week, to once a week and now I'm doing once every two weeks (next will be once a month). I'm pissed because when I wear my wash and go's my hair has these FAB textures where I can just run my fingers (ok not really, maybe run my fingers over..lol) through all my little tight corkscrew coils, kinks, and then I get to this one damn spot that has really no texture besides poofiness. Wtf. when wearing my wash and go's I have to try to camoflauge this one spot at the top of my hair but until it really dried up one section would have just a permed/stringy look. :perplexed So, like the dumbass that I am I went and got the scissors tonight thinking that I could just cut out the little stringy section (about an inch or so) but now not only is my hair a little shorter in this section than the rest of the surrounding hair, it is still UNTEXTURIZED. Ain't this aboutta

Oh no!!! Hide the scissors!

Seriously, though, I have the same thing and I kept thinking that part of my hair was damaged, so I kept trimming just that section over and over. After a couple of months of doing this, that section was still dry and poofy. I think it grows that way, so now when I do a wash and go, I put a heavier oil or cream on that area. It still dries out quicker than the rest of my hair and is more frizzy than curly but it's a lot better than it was.

I think that my be the same for me about the pattern and all. When I stroke the roots in that area (hand in hair disease all day everyday) there is barely a wave to it in comparison to other sections. I don't like it one bit

PUT THE SCISSORS DOWN AND BACK AWAY SLOWLY!!! don't do anything you're going to regret. it's just one spot. it'll catch with the rest of the bunch pretty soon. at least you don't have a (non-cancerous) lump on your scalp where there's hardly any hair like i do. consider yourself lucky.

Thanks for the check caribeandiva (and I'm sorry to hear about what you are dealing with). I just needed to vent a smidgen..

oh don't worry about it. i've had it for years. my doctor gave me the option of surgically removing it but it doesn't bug me that much anymore. maybe i'll change my mind in a few years.
