My hair is a tangled mess. Can anybody help?

Ok, I did a little experiment on my hair yesterday to make it look curly. First I washed it. Then I parted it down the middle and put four little buns on each side of my head. I stayed like that for about 24 hours until it dried. It looked pretty good when I took it down. I finger combed and picked it out. It was curly and extremely short... like from bra strap length all the way up to neck length. Anyway, I've combed it out, and it looks like I have an afro. It's tangled on the ends. I've lost more than I expected, and I know that if I comb it more it's gonna come out more. Anybody have an suggestions?

have u tried sprayin a detanglin kinda thing on it lik a detanglin conditioner to help u comb out or summin similar??

I don't have anything here but grease and a comb. I'm at my daddy's house, and he's bald! Right now my hair is in a huge afro puff on the top of my head. I don't want to sleep with it like that because it'll probably get even more tangled. Maybe I'll have to do that though if I can't think of anything else. Thanks for responding.

mmm well if he has avocadoes in the fridge u may be able to use them to condition the hair coz they moisturise the hair and hopefully the hair will get soft and as a result easier to comb

MissJ,
Let me try to help u girl. Look to see if Dad has any olive oil in the cupboards. If so, GOOD! Spritz your hair with water...actually u want to get it pretty wet. Then thoroughly spritz the olive oil in your hair. This combo should at least make it easier for u to detangle... again emphasizing DETANGLE, cause God knows u don't want to attempt to comb it & risk losing more hairs.

If Dad has no olive oil, then look for Canola oil, Vegetable oil, yes, the kind used to fry with

. Believe it or not, in emergency type situations (such as yours), these oils (mixed with water) are beneficial for quick lil emergency detangling cases. I've had to resort to them plenty of times while having bad hair days at relatives houses. If u use Canola or Veggie oil, just make sure to wash thoroughly (preferrably tomorrow) or when u get home.

Yes, that's 1 that I left out....I've used that before also

.... it should work for u. If u can, try to take your time & detangle by finger combing as much as possible. Oh, by the way... warm the oil a tid bit before applying (just a tid warmer than room temp)... (it should work both ways though)...

After detangling, I would make 3 pony tails... (1 on each frontal side & 1 in the back) then braid the tails. Or, if u like, just braid the hair (no pony tails)... this will help to keep the hair "detangled" & manageable just until u can get home...

No Prob girl. I've been there... know exactly what you're going through.

Make sure to let me know how it goes...

Much luv,
Peachtree
