and I haven't had my scheduled touch up yet. As I mentioned back in October, I'm pregnant-due within 12 days-so I'm holding out.

I gave myself a dusting the other day and I can't tell I lost length. I'm attaching a picture of my hair at it's
shortest-dated February 2002 just to give you an idea of where I started from. As soon as I get my touch up, I'll post a new pic with my new length. YAY!

Also, when I go for a touch up, I automatically tell the stylist that I want no part of her scissors, "just spiral set me and I'll be on my way." Yes, this may be a little rude and yes, I may have lost, oh, say, nine stylists in five years but this my head of hair, dangit!

Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to getting a touch up soon and just wrapping it up for months with olive oil on the ends.

Like I said, I'll post a picture of m hair after the touch up just so you all can see my new length.

By the way, this is a great site!

Your baby is adorable and your hair looks great. You kind of look like Mary J. Blige in that first picture.

Your hair is lovely and so are you!

And your baby is precious! Talk about HAIR! That baby has a headful!

Gee, thanks guys!!!! I'm trying to stay humble over here. LOL! No, really, I am so anxious to see if I have more than two inches, which is possible my being pregnant and taken these horse-size prenatal vitamins I nearly choke on each morning.

I almost want to get a touch up in my room right after birth. Don't think I haven't thought of how I could have it done. This stuff is so thick and I normally have fine hair. Oh, well, at least it's healthy and growing.

My husband owes me a 'push' present so I'm going to the salon for once and getting a touch-up but she'll be sadly mistaken if she thinks she's cutting my hair!

No kidding, I've walked out with a wet head many a time. Which probably explains why I have had so many stylists in my life. I feel like this, "This is my head of hair. I'll do with it what I want." Luckily, I have a stylist now who thinks I'm crazy and just takes my money and let me walk out, wet head and all without giving me grief.

Anyway, thanks again for the compliments. I'll be sure to tell my youngest-Rudi-all the rave reviews but something tells me she knows all to well how cute she is.

OH MY! Another Kaaronica-well, Karoinca in the world. Okay, tell me you haven't been asked a million times where your parents got your name. I honestly do not know, as I was named by my father who is no longer alive.

...And you live in D.C. my best friend lives there. I was just there in July '03 for the Hurston/Wright Writer's Week. Anyhoo, do you know where your parents got your name from?

If you don't mind my asking, who do you go to for your touchups? Thanks in advance!

(Oh and congratulations on baby #2 to come!)

Well, I super moisturized my hair first(with shea butter and olive oil) because I had about four inches of new growth but my crazy behind was cutting off the results thinking I was making my hair healthy.

Anyway, I combed through it from the bottom up. It's key to do it this way as it minimizes breakage. Then, I took medium sized sections and rolled it really, really tight.

After they dried, I took a flat iron-on medium setting-and gingerly applied the heat to the new growth only. That was that.

It was a process but I had a bad relaxer experience in Dakar so I was just waiting to come back to the states for a touch up.

I hope I answered your question. Thanks for the compliments.

you are very beautiful, I agree with blue_flower you remind me of mary J blige. your hair looks great also!
babies, babies, babies, I love and adore them.

I just realized that I didn't tell you where I go. Sorry!

I see Alicia at the Rosedale JcPenney's. It's been while so I hope she's still there.
