Ladies I did the big chop in Sept....I realize that my hair (after experimenting and buying new products like I've lost my mind):yep:...that my hair does not like anything and I mean anything with shea butter, oil etc.....it makes my hair look crazy...by that I mean, dry and just plain funky looking!! Right now I'm enjoying Oyin's conditioner....what are my options since the climate in Cincinnati is now quite cold. Your suggestions are much appreciated:perplexed

I thought my hair didnt like shea butter either, BUT I found out that my hair does in fact LOVE shea butter. It just needs to be under the right conditions. I can never use shea butter on dry hair. My hair must be wet and I must already have a moisturizer on it. THEN I can use shea butter to seal. This can keep my hair soft and moisturized for a week or even longer depending on if I keep my hair out or not. But shea butter just by itself or even on dry moisturized hair is a no-go for me.

I don't use shea butter anymore, I didn't like the lack of shine - and the BBQ smell was a bit too much for me. I do however think that stuff is magic on my skin during winter!

Now about you...What length are you? Do you want to use an oil, or are you looking for a moisturzier?

If you are using Oyin conditioner (Honey Hemp? That stuff is awesome!) you might want to try pairing it with one of their pommades.

I have about 2 in...it was chopped to maybe 1/4 in..I really like the honey hemp and ido have t burnt sugar...I've tried products with she's wet and dry....its still a no no. It's long enough to do twists..I keep seeing many ladies using she's to seal..so is there another alternative?

When my hair was that length, I was using Parnevu Tea Trea oil cream moisturizer. The tea tree is great for the scalp and my hair was always well moisturized. I was also sealing with EVOO.
