FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a candle lit by my computer, and forgot all about it. I lened over it trying to fixed my comouter moniter. I heard sizzling and it was my hair!! It was actually fire on my head. I'm in tear right now because , I can't believe this is real. I think I;m in a dream.

I went to the ER and watied for 4 hours. I could not stand the wait so I had to leave. I am going to make an aooointment the 1st thing on Monday.

I have a really red bald spot about 4inchs arcoss with little short burned hairs on it. My scalp is a little sore but it not really hurting. I'm just in shock and feel hopeless.

I applield vit E oil and a 1st aid ontiment to my scalp. The burn is in the center of my head so I can cover it up. I really scared this might be permanent.

Is there any advice you all give give. What should I do??????????????????????

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about that, I'm praying for you girl. I'm just glad that you personally are o.k. I know you are very devastated about ur hair right now. I am sending you a hug, feel better

OH no! Im sorry hun! I would put some Aloe vera gel on it and schedule an appt with a dermatologist. He/she may have some medication to speed healing and promote hair growth. Thank god you are ok!

I'm sorry this happened to you, but I'm happy that you're physically all right.

The Vitamin E and first aid ointment was a good move on your part until your get the appointment. Aloe vera gel is also good for burns too. Although I don't have much advice, I do hope your scalp and hair recover quickly.

i'm soooo sorry to hear this happened to you :( my sis burned much of her bangs one year and she was really upset. def go see a dermatologist asap! please keep us updated, i hope you get some good news :(

OMGoodness, I hope your alright, please go to the MD and derm to take care of yourself. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

I AM SO SORRY THIS HAPPENED TO YOU. BUT THANK GOD YOU ARE OK. I AM SURE AFTER YOU VISIT THE DOCTOR TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO MAJOR DAMAGE, THAT US LADIES HERE AT LHCF WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU BRING YOUR HAIR BACK BETTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE. GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING.

I don't have any advice but I'm so sorry to hear that this happend to you ((((hugs)))). This happend to a friend of mine years ago. She got her skirt caught on her open fire and she panicked, used her hand to try to get the fire out but her hand and very long braids also caught fire. Luckily she did not experience alot of scalp damage but her own hair did grow back from where it did burn and she is not the kind of person who looks after her hair well. So I'm sure yours will grow back as you take care of it.

You should really try to get an appointment with a dermatologist as soon as you can! I am soo sorry that this happened to you sweetie.

OMG! I'm so sorry to hear this! Please....go to a doctor or a dermatologist PRONTO! They can investigate your scalp and see how much damage was done. Right now it's hard to tell if you had 1st degree, 2nd degree, or even 3rd degree burns on your scalp. :( Please....I hope everything is alright. (((((HUG)))))

I'm so sorry! Thank goodness you're not physically harmed otherwise though. Please let us know what the Dr. says.

Ladies,

I really am THANKFUL for you ALL. 1st let me say that I'm blessed, it could have been a lot worst. I feel kinda vain for worrying about this. But, I can't help it. I'm just really angry with myself for making such a dumb mistake.

I had a doctor's appointment today. She said my scalp looked a little red but she didn't think it would be permanent. But she also said only time will tell. I don;t have any pain or swellen today. I imagined waking up to a bigger mess. I can't get a dermo appointment untill late next week. I will keep you all updated!

A dermatologist would really be helpful! I am so sorry to hear this but SO HAPPY that you are a-okay! That could have been so much worse :( A derm would really know some good meds and salves fro your sclp and could give you somethign to promote growth. Good luck. Im in prayer!

I'm very sorry this happened to you, God Favor. :( It must have been so terribly scary.

I'm happy you were able to see a doctor today and that the news seems to be good! I will be praying that all is well with your scalp. Please continue to let us know how you're doing. {{HUGS}}

I'm sorry this happened to you. Don't feel stupid, I'm so glad you were thinking quickly and got medical attention. You are very brave and strong. Believe the best.

Oh, girl! That happened to my best friend a few years ago (it was bound to happen with girl, she douses her her daily with Rave #4 hairspray), she had a ball of fire on her head and we all started slapping her head, and then started pulling long strands off her head.
I don't think she had any scalp damage, but in your case, I would hope they at least gave you a steroid cream to regenerate skin/tissue growth? That's what I was given the one time I got a burn from a relaxer many years ago and that skin that was oozing and scaly healed right up!

I am sorry to hear about this terrible incident. I am not of fan of candles, I have heard too many stories involving them. God Favor,I highly recommend Alovera Plant! My ex hubby had 2nd degree burns on his body and my neighbor gave him an alovera plant, and he healed quickly! He healed so quick and fast that you couldn't tell that he was burnt. Alovera Plant is EXCELLENT for burns!

FYI, if ever burnt...immediately run COLD water on the burn...This stops the burn from spreading. When I grew up we were taught to put butter and other ointments on it immediately, which doesn't stop the burn from spreading and could cause more harm than good...If burned you should immediately put Cold water and then follow up with other treatments..like alovera plant,...etc. Good Luck, but in the mean time put an aloevera plant leaf on top of your head to start the healing process. My ex used to place the leaf on his skin and wrap it with a bandage wrap for hours until he took a bath. His skin is back to normal. HTH!

I sorry that this has happened to you. When my mother was in high school a girl in her chemistry class set her hair on fire and burned hair, scalp and all. The girl turn out to be my hubby second cousin and my mother's hair did grow back.
