This thread probably will drop, but, I have to post it, because I posted a thread about my girlfriend PULLING my hair several months back.

I would be remiss if I didn't also post that she has been kind and complimentary about my hair since that incident. Always telling me, "I like your hair." "Your hair looks good." "your hair is getting long" etc. I'm feeling bad now, that I highlighted my friends' initial reaction to my growing hair on a public message board. They are sweet and kind young women and I should have given them the benefit of the doubt.

Not condoning the pulling, but it's good to experience black women being genuine with each other and also feeling confident enough in their own skin to be complimentary, even if they've been less than that in the past. There is considerable hope for us yet, ladies. ;)

I am so happy to see this step towards your friend being supportive. There are too many instances of friends turning into Haters for whatever reason. Good to see something different.

Thanks ladies. I agree. It's cool that it doesn't always have to be negative energy that we reap from our hair efforts. My friend must have just been shocked when she pulled it several months ago. I had been wearing it in a bun for months on end and she hadn't seen it down. But, growing hair out doesn't have to be the source of consternation from others. I feel bad that I even posted the pulling experience in the first place.

Well you made up for it with this post, IMHO. As soon as I saw the title, my first thought was how nice it is to see the support from friends for a change.

You're a nice friend to post the positive stuff too.

It's a nice change to hear of people seeing that you're growing your hair out and complimenting you.
It seems like you have some great friends.
Good for you:clapping: and them.
