This style rocks!! I did this style for my photo shoot on Sat (of which I got from you, thanks :love2:). Instead of braids I did twist and rod the ends. I got sooo many compliments!

@westNDNbeauty I've always love this style.. Love it when I 1st saw you do it and now I love it even more.. Maybe this question was asked but her hair was dry right and you just put the product on and then plait and roll?

Also you just took the rollers out and nothing else right? I asked because the front of her hair looks wavy like you may have take seperated the curls.. Koils by nature was the only product you use on her hair?

Sorry but I was so busy looking at your pictures that I took the time to read your blog and got my answer to the products she used  but still unsue if you seperated the curls.. Sorry if I am being a pest just when I try this style I want to do it right

Gorgeous. This would be a great style for me to try in the hot weather. Also, your friends skin is amazing. So clear, almost like she's glowing from the inside.

Her hair was dry, but I dampened it with a little water and the gel before plaiting and rolling it. The purpose of that was to make sure it all held up for the entire day since the wedding was outside.

I did only use rollers. The front may appear a bit more wavy because she has a little heat damage in that very section.

Koils by Nature were the only products used.

No I didn't separate the curls. I wanted to, but I was unsure of how much the the curls would maintain after separating and I also figured the humidity would have helped to make it all bigger.

The way I did her hair is the exact way I did mine in my tutorial HERE. Only difference were her rollers were all small.

@westNDNbeauty ---love the style, may have to try since I have perm rods sitting around, but may use larger size. Question, on the take down process, for some reason it looks like you are using something (bobbypin) to remove the braids --am I seeing things (I am sleepy & been in front of a computer all day)

I used to set my hair like this when I was a student, but I would do bigger plaits, use drinking straws for the curls & unbraid it when it dried. My hair was super healthy and thick because of it.

Do you have more pics of your hair in this style? I'd love to see hwo it looks on the side and back

Here is the frizz ball that it turned into my first night in town:

I used to religiously wear my hair like this, except I'm relaxed and didn't have to braid it from the roots. Now that I think about it my hair was alot thicker back then too. I'd wear it like that, wash and re-set every four days, just to keep my "do" always looking fresh. For a while people thought I had naturally curly hair, not knowing that I was relaxed.

No bobby pin being used. That's just me holding 2 of the 3 strands of hair taut as I unbraid.

Anew

No I don't have any more pics of that hair. The side is rolled and pinned down. It was just too much to have both sides out and frizzy. The pic where I am wearing pink is that same hair just tied up

Thanks. I'm hoping to see some honeymoon pics. Maybe I'll get permission to share.

Hey ladies!!! Thanks for all of the wonderful compliments...I'm so lucky to have a bestie who is natural and can do my hair! Here are a couple of pics from the honeymoon to show how the hair held up.

This was Day 3 hair as soon as we got to Jamaica. I didn't do anything to it at night other than sleep with a bonnet.

This was later on in Day 3...it started to expand a little with the humidity.

This was Day 4 hair...right before I washed it. The roots swelled, but the coils at the end stayed and started to look very weird and fuzzy :ohwell: I separated it a little more for a bigger fro, but still didn't like the way it looked anymore...and I knew my hair would be getting wet sooner or later so I washed it.

Thank you for updating with more pics! I was very interested in seeing how your hair held up; it looks like it held splendidly, even after it got bigger from the humidity.

Congratulations on your marriage! It looks like you had a great time on your honeymoon.
