Hi ladies!!!

Every time I flat iron my hair, about an hour later it's all frizzed out... :perplexed
what can I do to make my hair last longer???? Do I need a higher temp???

thank you!

Sabino recommends just using that product by itself. After you've conditioned you just rinse and put the serum on and either airdry or blowdry. Dont add any leave ins, oils or any other heat protectant because you dont need them. He also recommends using high heat..450 degrees. I usually use 425 but i have used higher as well. I use Sabino and my hair comes out well and doesn't revert. I use the comb chase method as well. If you just use the Sabino you may just need to use as directed with a temp of at least 425. The comb chase method probably wouldnt hurt. Also make sure you do a real good deep conditioning before because i think dry hair tends to revert quicker.

I'd your hair natural or relaxed?

What's the temperature in your city?

I ask because my hair is natural and anything after 60 degrees makes my hair frizz up like crazy. If that's not your case, maybe you need to do an extra pass on your flatiron.

Thank you so much ladies...i will try the sabino by itself and extra moisture next time

I live in san diego...it's usually nice weather....but my hair frizzed up indoors.... :nono:

PS i am natural...

Is it a spray or a serum? I find that my hair stays straight better with a serum and that it works better with no other products like someone else said. I prefer redken smooth glide on freshly washed hair. Also higher temperatures get you sleeker results. just dont make it too hot. maybe try passing the iron an extra time?

Maybe your hair isn't as moisturized as it should be. Frizz can be a result of hair looking for moisture in the air.

If its not staying straight in San Diego.... Thats a problem. Lol. Thats some of the best weather in the country.

Im not familiar with sabino but when Im flatironing I make sure to moisturize my hair just like I would if I was wearing it curly. Then in addition to that I use a heat protectant that has.cones to block out the moisture & potential frizziness.

what kind of flat iron do you have?

i would actually advise using a leave in along with the serum.
perhaps deep conditioning with a smoothing conditioner might help too.

A good ceramic flatiron like a Chi will make a huge difference.

OP What steps do you take to condition your hair before blow drying?

Many people are unaware that your hair must be well moisturized by your deep conditioner to garner the sleekest results. High moisture content of strands also requires less heat and prevents heat damage.

See my siggy. I straighten no more than twice a year. My hair is primarily worn in its kinky state (4a/b)

I don't think you need high heat to get sleek results. You just have to make sure your hair is properly moisturized thru deep conditioning. If your hair is healthy and moisturized high heat is not necessary to get sleek results. Since your hair is frizzing it is most likely dry and needs a good deep conditioning.

Hi everyone! I don't think my har is dry and in need of moisture....i dc'd overnight before i flat ironed on saturday....so i don't think that could be it..I think it was bc i mixed product while using the sabino AND i don't think i used enough sabino....i re-flatironed yesterday and put more sabino...so far so good....no frizz!

Hey lady!

In my experience of flat iron foolery, I was using a leave-in that had glycerin in it. I poof up every time.... even if it's lower on the ingredient list. :nono: When I stopped using it prior to flat ironing, I had no problems at all.

In my experience it could mean.... humidity, parched hair, hair was too coated to allow the heat to really get it straight properly so it reverts or heat was not sufficient enough to straighten properly so you may need to turn the dial up...
I use very little product when I flat iron, just about a quarter sized amount for my whole head. That may be too little lol but it gets my hair the lightest and bounciest.
I used to use a TON, coating each section down with serum and my hair would be limp and filthy looking after I was done.

okay ladies.....so i figured out my problem.....my hair was over-moisturized!...i upped my protein! i flat ironed last night and it feels completely different than it did last month....
