I never use flat irons or curling irons but something came over me last night and I flat ironed my hair. It turned out so pretty and shiny and I was amazed at how long it has gotten!!
My question is, how to do preserve a flat ironed head overnight? I clipped up the back and put my bonnet on and ruined my beautiful flat iron! When I let it down it had a dent in it :(

Some ladies wrap their hair, others pincurl it (twist the hair into a curl and secure it with a bobby pin), some put it in a high ponytail, others just wear a satin bonnet.

I'm curious to know how you normally wear your hair?

Normally I either put my hair in a high ponytail and put some curlers in the length of it, cover with a bonnet

OR

braid hair into two large french braids, taken down it has pretty waves in it

OR

up in a bun

OR

a braid out

I band mine if I want a pin straight look. Put it in a ponytail w/ one big pin curl in back if I want a bend to it.

Ill either put it in a ponytail and then put on a bonnet or use a small jaw clip to put it up then put a bonnet over it.

a cross wrap is the best way for longer hair. like imagine 2 pigtails then wrap the hair around your head so the ends of your hair meet in the front. this is cross wrapping, but of course not with pigtails but just smoothly wrap both sides of your hair.

and when i'm lazy, I just comb my hair back. put my scarf on...tied to the front. (my hair is down in the back). I gather one side of my hair and crosswrap, and tuck underneath the scarf....then I do the other side. (this keeps my hair flat!)

Hey Mizani:wave: ,

Okay i'm trying to understand the crossover. Are you parting your hair down the middle? What do you do when, you bring it around the front and you have to bring it down on the other side? How do you cross? One section in front the other section in back? Sorry if it takes to long to explain, been looking for a new way to wrap hair that is getting longer.

I wrap it, that's the only way I can keep it flat and ensure it has "life" in it the next day. I don't think wrapping is that good if it's done consistently, but I haven't experienced any problems from just doing it every once in a while. Btw, you have beautiful hair!:o

Wrap it or put it in a loose twist bun secured by a scrunchi. Then tie with satin scarf to keep it in place. For me, a bonnet isn't tight enough to keep it in place.
