I went and bought a new hooded dryer today. Actually my SO did

Anways I needed to do an aphogee treatment so after I was like what the heck I should try to rollerset. I was doing great until I ran out of my duckbill clips :ohwell: So I tried some other clips I just bought but they sucked so I just used the large bobbi pin type things I had sitting round and they worked just as well if not better. Anyways I added some pics to my album Pwd: poof

COngratulations! Your rollerset looks great, and I'm jealous that you know how to use the metal clips...I don't get along with those at all! Keep up the good work :)

Have you tried clipping the rollers together? I can rollerset either way with the clips, but a technique I learned from watching my former stylist was clipping the rollers together to help keep it taut. So let's say for a row [(going down) I guess I should say column] you clip the rollers to each other. So if you have five rollers on top of each other then you will only have 4 metal clips. You clip roller 1 to roller 2, 2 to 3, 3, to 4, and 4 to five. I hope this is clear if not I will do it tonight and take a pic and post in my album.
 
Your hair looks great, and it is so thick and full! I am still learning how to master rollersetting, practice makes perfect I always say.

Congrats on your rollerset! It looks a whole lot better than mine did. I did a rollerset last night, with my new hooded dryer. I turned out terrible. My hair was so big and poofy! I ended up wearing a pony tail today!! Ah well, I'll try again.
 
Ok so it was not as successful as I thought. I woke up this morning to huge tangles all over my head :mad: Ugh I so fustrated with my hair right now. Did I use big enough rollers? Not enough moisture? Is my hair doomed to live a life in a bun. :wallbash: I thought about wrapping it but I tried in the past and failed miserably at it. So I just put my satin bonnet over it. What went wrong?

Well if some of them didn't dry all the way that could have caused the tangles. Another thing is that maybe you should have pinned the curls so they wouldn't move while under your bonnet. You probably could have used larger rollers because your hair is longer than mine and I use larger rollers at times but that wouldn't cause the tangles.

Also, what did you do before you rolled your hair? I mean was each section combed well without tangles prior to rollers.
 
Thanks ladies I really wish they would have been nice in the morning. Actually the top wasn't really that bad it was the back that was messed up. I thought the back was dry and after I took them out I stayed up for like 2 more hours so my hair should have been dry. I combed each section before rolling it so it wasn't tangled before hand. I was thinking about pin curls but I forgot :ohwell: I will try again after my touch-up. I used NTM leave in before rolling my hair. Should I try something else?
 
try salerm 21 leave in it worked well for me...

all those pretty curls around your nape area are you a 3c in that area?
