Once again ladies, thanks for your support. Ok, Chocolate01 I do set my self, it has taken me a while to master the technique but practice does make perfect, I learnt how to do it from the LHCF. Atlein, I use a no-lye relaxer, ORS Olive Oil, its the best evr, it washes out easily when I do my 'half half' relaxer method (i self relax perming the front first and then the back afterwards). I used to use dark and lovely which used to give me awful dry scalp a few days later to the extent where I couldnt even comb my hair in a certain direction or frosted flakes would fall from heaven!! The ORS is just great!!! Lastly, Natori24, I am from england so my understanding of a doobie might be slightly different from yours. I interpret it to mean, roller setting on large/medium magnetic rollers and then dry wrapping it with a vent brush (no pins), putting on a silk scarf and going to bed, if it isnt clear, ask and I will clarify.
Very gorgeous hair!!! I am interested in how you do the pin curls. someone awhile back gave a web site, but for the life of me I can not get it. How do u get the curl to lay down like that? Do u just push it on the scalp like a slinky? Your explanation would be greatly appreciated.
You set your hair as good as the dominicans do, it looks great(especially for 5 days old). What is the method you used for the pin curl, what do you use to roll, how long did you keep the rollers in and did you use any product?
Kjames001 and divayoki, thanks for your comments. About pin curls, I roller set my freshly washed hair for 1 hour and a half using motions nourish leave in conditioner and fantasia ic polisher. When its completely dry I grease my scalp with ORS carrot oil and then do the slinky method, as in you pin (with small hair pins) the ringlets down to your head so it looks like an O. I use 1/2 hair pin per pin curl and spray it with oil sheen when necessary. This is my protective style and I keep it like this for 2 weeks. During that time I take it down if I am going somewhere special. Hope this helps!!!
Natori24, im not sure if a doobie can be done on natural hair, I think that it depends on the natural hair type, like if it was say 2a it should work but dont quote me on it!!!

Here's some info I posted on pin curls a while back.

I roll a section of hair around my fingers and use small metal clip to pin that section to my head. I do this all over my head. If I do more sections my hair is curlier and fewer section create looser curls. Actually I think you're supposed to use bobby pins, hence the name pin curls, but I use these small metal clips. Also I tie my hair up with a silk scarf afterward.
Here are some pages that describe the process but more importantly have pictures. I do them on dry hair even though some of the links describe them being done on wet hair.

Thanks ladies. Atlien, I cut my hair 'Halle Berry' short about 3 years go, after about 6 months I got fed up so began growing it back, therefore about 2.5 years overall. Vanessa22, I wash once every 2 weeks doing a pre-treatment shampoo with oil and washing the hair using motions lavish shampoo and conditioner. I then rollerset using IC hair polisher and motions leave in. I go under the hooded dryer for 1.5 hours and I grease my scalp with ORS Olive/Carrot Oil and use Olive Oil Sheen. Every so often I use motions CPR. I wear my hair in the protective style of pin curl for the 2 weeks between washes, I only have it out when I just relax it which is 1/2 weeks after I relax. If you need more info, let me no.
Hey Lonei thank you for answering. Just want to let you know you are truly an inspiration to me
. My hair looks exactly the same texture as yours and looks the same way when rapped and shirley temple curled. I was just about to cut 5inches off my hair to get a bob because I felt as though bra length was taking to long (I have no patience I'm about 3.5 inches from brastrap) but I saw your pics and got excited
. I love your hair because it shows me the results of taking care of mine thanks for sharing. Girl you rock on!!!! And thank you for being my inspiration
You guys are so sweet!! Atlien, please dont cut it, just keep going, your almost there. By the way, the only vitamins I take are a multivitamin and omega 3 fish oil.
