I did my first co-wash two days ago, with White Rain Fruit Fortifying Conditioner. After rinsing I conditioned for 5 minutes with Pantene Relaxed and Natural Moisturising Conditioner, and then rinsed out and put in some Mango and Lime Island Oil. I'm currently wearing a protective sew in weave, with my hair out only on the sides, back and front. I made a single braid of the towel dried hair for it to air dry whilst I was at work. When I got home, I undid it, and the result was very very crunchy hair.
Not only the weave, my exposed hair was really hard too.
I put in a little more oil and ran the blow drier through it a few times to tame the jagged texture. It worked a little, but I still feel the crunchiness. Do I need to rinse more thoroughly or something? Cos my hair feels so dang hard! I'm wondering just what I'll find when I take this weave out next week, with all this Crunch'n'Munch action I'm seeing on the surface.
