I finally did it! At 13wks post I decided to give the powders and oils a shot. Thanks to all of ladies that I bugged for information. You know who you are. But there was one lady that had a very simple mix that convenienced me. Here goes........On Thursday night I oiled with amla and shikakai in hopes of doing my hair Friday night but did not. I put on a plastic cap, tied my hair up with a scarf and went to bed. Friday morning I got ready for work by putting a cute hat over the scarf and plastic bag. Who knew, hoop earring and make up along with casual Friday jeans were perfect. So this morning at last I prepare for my first ayurvedic experience. I mixed 3 full tablespoons of amla powder, 1 tablespoon of shikakai powder, 3 caps of amla oil and 1 cap of coconut oil. Proceeded to add hot water creating a pastry mix. I removed my plastic cap and smooth through it with my fingers making sure it was not tangled. Then I used an applicator brush to apply my mix from roots to end. It was a little messy but not so bad. I put a plastic cap on for about 30 min. I gathered up some conditioners. Since I'm trying to use up some stuff, I got my Noni rinse, Miss Key Naturals (sabilo) aloe vera and avocoda, silicon mix and coconut oil. I hopped in the shower to rinse for quite awhile until the water became clear. At this point, my hair was soooooo soft. I could not believe it. Then I ran some Noni rinse through my hair as if I was shampooing (twice). My hair felt as if there was no ng I kid you not. I got out the shower with tower dried hair and proceeded to do a deep cond (which I'm doing at the moment). I mixed my Naturals aloe vera and avocoda cond with some silicon mixed adding some cocnut oil. Whipped it up and is now under the dryer for 45 min. I will be doing my normal rollerset on the red magnetic rollers for a curlier set. Ladies, this is the best my hair as ever felt at 13wks post. All I can say if you have not jumped on the ayurvedic wagon, do it now. I was concerned about trying this out with so much ng, but it actually helped it. I will definitely be doing this again next Sat morning. I will post pics in my fotki no later than tomorrow once I done. Off to rinse out and do my rollerset!
